No, Garner was born between Detroit, Tx and Ruby just off FM 410. Later they more to a two story house (or built it) in Detroit where it today has a historical marker on the wall (I have pictures). I have never made a earnest effort to walk the pasture area where I was told it was (the marker where he was born), I was never certain of what dirt road it was on. I understand it is a short distant to the west of FM 410 about 4 miles south of Detroit. As a young man, Garner moved to Uvalde for a career. With my 3 back surgeries I can not handle the weight, but I bet we could find some help somewhere. If it just need to be propped up, I made could do that with a pry-bar and my van, but I would probably bury my van. He had a home in Uvalde which I presume is still there. I was there about ten years ago. It was open to the public.
