My compute has been in the hospital since last Thursday p.m. I have only checked the last two e-mail. It is 30 miles from Paris to Clarksville. It is about 15 miles from Paris down US 82 to Detroit and the county line. The new US 82 (about 45 year sold now), bypasses Bagwell and goes straight to Clarksville. To go to Bagwell, on the east side of Detroit, take hwy FM 2573 to Bagwell (about 4 to 5 more miles). From Bagwell, to go to Clarksville, continue on FM 2573 southward back to US 82 and then on to Clarksville. FM 2573 is basically a loop off 82 to go thru Bagwell. And to Pam, I have not read the previous e-mails but Pecan Bayou basically starts north of Bagwell about 10 miles. It run southeastward and is joined by other creeks before it get to US 37 just north of Dimple. It continues southeastward for a few miles until it turns eastward about 2 miles north of Madras, Shiloh, Concord & White Rock. After is passes on the south side of Antioch, it turns a bit northward and continues to wind to dump into the Red River in Red River County just before the Bowie County line. My GGG Grandfather settle the Concord area starting in 1833 and his 1600 acres was bordered on the north by the Pecan Bayou. I only about 2 weeks ago made a back road run and as I was on Hwy 37 headed south, I was at the top of Dimple Hill, I took a couple of good pictures of the stretch northward of Hwy 37 and the 3 bridges that cross the Pecan Bayou (it takes 3 to get across it). It is pretty spread out in this area about like Scatter creek is. My dad tells me before the new hwy in the 1940, there were 5 different bridges to cross the Pecan Bayou. Note: this is not bridges to cross the Bayou in 3 or 5 different locations, It takes that many bridges to get across the low lying area. I have picture that was made of me an my sisters standing on these new bridges in about 1946 to 49, not sure exactly. I will try to check the last 4 days of e-mail in the morning. We are in the middle two graduations and two wedding (grandchildren) within the next couple of months. My wife has me pretty busy with cards, parties etc. All have a good week. Not knowing for sure, even though I drove it every day to work, but 30 miles won't miss it far, but the old route I am talking about, there was no straight road from Blossom to Detroit, nor was there a straight road from Detroit to Clarksville. I remember very well because I worked on these roads. Just guessing, but I feel that the new road from Clarksville to Paris made the trip close to 10 miles closer, I will just wait and see, Sam Paris ----- Original Message ----- From: <NANAREB@aol.com> To: <txredriv@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, May 21, 2007 10:02 PM Subject: Re: [TXREDRIV] Not Gena.
