I was told when I got my first digital camera that you should always fill your memory card because if you just keep taking 10/12 pictures and deleting them you will wear out the first part of the card and have to get a new one sooner. I don't know if this is true because I always fill mine before deleting and my cards are over 3 years old and still working and I take a lot of pictures.
