Seems I remember the Burton surname on this board. I have the marriage of Ragin W Burton & Corelia Ann Vinson Oct 17, 1839 in Vermilion County, ILL by Reuben Giddens, Edler, Baptist Church. (Reuben Giddens is my GGGG GF). He also married Daniel Landon & Mary Howell oct 18, 1837. Reuben's son Hiram married Jane Howell in 1834 in Vermilion Co. The above records (requested by my Dad) were mailed to my Dad in 1973 by (letter head) Charles Haggerty, Librarian, Danville Public Library, Danville, Illinois. Actually the letter is signed by (Miss) Eleanor Yoemans of the reference Department. I am very thankful for the many such copies of my Dad's genealogy work that the obtained or charted in the 1960 and 70s. It must have took him many hours to do what I can do on a computer in a few minutes. Reuben came to Red River Co ca 1840 after two or more of his sons started migrating to RR Co beginning ca 1829. Sorry, Cynthia. I was hoaxed by a person on the list, and checked out the procedure with a "usually reliable source. This is a Hoax. Do not delete this file from your computer. It is a standard part of Windows. See below. In April 2002 there appeared a hoax message concerning a new virus that was reportedly discovered in Windows utility JDBGMGR.EXE. The jdbgmgr is a standard windows component that is found in every windows installation, it is used as Java debugger manager in Microsoft Java runtime engine. The icon of the original JDBGMGR.EXE file for some reason looks like a teddy bear. We checked several versions of this utility from Windows installations and found nothing malicious in them. Please ignore this hoax or anything similar warning about jdbgmgr.exe and don't pass it on. If you have deleted jdbgmgr.exe, please see Microsoft knowledgebase article Q322993 for instructions how to restore your system: <A HREF="http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q322993"> http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q322993</A> This is from AOL Hoax Virus Info. thanks Linda. Windows ME version automatically recovers jdbgmgr files. LMoore806@aol.com wrote: >This is a Hoax. Do not delete this file from your computer. It is a standard >part of Windows. Please do not send virus warnings to this list. I'm sure the person who told you this was well meaning, but this is a hoax, as are most of these warnings you get through EMail. This file is on everyone's computer and is there for a reason. Please do not tell people to delete files from their computer. Cynthia Samples List Administrator
A virus has been passed on to me by a contact. My address book WAS infected. Since you are in my address book, there is a good chance you will find it inl your computer. McAfee or Norton anti-virus won't stop it. It does not attack for 14 days, so even if you have it there is probably no damage yet. Even if I haven't e-mailed you lately, this is what you should do. YOU MUST DO THIS!!! 1. Go to Start, Find or Search option 2. In the file/folder box, type the name jdbgmgr and search everywhere. 3. Click "find now" 4. If you have the virus it will be reported. There is a small teddy bear icon next to it. DO NOT OPEN IT. 5. Go to the file by clicking on the teddy bear icon and right click to highlight the file without opening it. 6/ On the drop-down menu that appears, select DELETE. The file will be placed in your recycle bin. Do not forget to emkpty your recycle bin immediately. If you do not know how to do this, ask someone smarter than I am. IF YOU FIND THE VIRUS, YOU MUST CONTACT ALL THE PEOPLE IN YOUR ADDRESS BOOK SO THEY CAN ERADICATE IT IN THEIR OWN ADDRESS BOOKS. To do this create a new e-mail message and send this message (cup and paste if you know how; otherwise copy it the hard way) to everybody in your address book. Sorry, everyone. I found it in my system after one of my contacts sent me this e-mail. It isn't so hard to follow the above procedure as you think it will be!

This is a hoax that has been around for a while. It is NOT a virus. The file is anecessary part of your software to run Java scripts. NEVER delete an executable(.exe) file without knowing exactly what you are deleting. This type of hoax is just as bad as an actual virus. The url below shows a site with a simple explanation of the hoax and refers you to another site if you want to search further for more info on it. The url is: http://www.siena.edu/antivirus/jdbgmgr.htm Don Cardwell Georgetown, TX
Hi everyone, Looked into this a little on Symantec's website and found this. It is a hoax and the file that is referred to is an actual MSFT Windows file, a java debugger to be exact. This is a virus that could infect this file, but that is handled different. We had this hoax thrown at us a few times at work. I work in the Information Techology field and am a network/email admin by trade. Here is the link to Symantec....http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/jdbgmgr. exe.file.hoax.html If you have alredy deleted the file, it shouldn't cause any problems on your system. The Paris News www.theparisnews.com has a article about Clarksville's Main Street Project looking into putting in a RV Park at the Langford Lake on the north edge of Clarksville. If you want to read it, bring up the news and click "region". Jim Giddens Paris, Tx
Diane, I think you have it straight and we have cleared it ups as much as we can at this point. I have not been able to locate as much information on the Madras "Church" as I would like. I do plan on following up on this in Clarksville when I have time. Names of churches may change from time to time over the years, especially when they move. If I come up with more information in the future I will post it to the board. My Giddens ancestors came to RR Co in 1833 to the area that became Concord near Madras. He gave the land and help start the Concord Baptist Church in 1844, which was the first Baptist Church in north Texas. Records show he became a member of the Baptist church in ILL before coming to Texas. I have often wondered if the attended the Presbyterian Church at Madras or Shiloh before starting the church at Concord. Wallis in Red River Co., Tx was my husband's g grandpa. As I said before, he married Sarah (McCarley) sister to G. W. McCarley and Ann (McCarlely) who married John Ware. The Ware's owned the land in 1839 that the old Shiloh cemetery is on. This is from the land papers that I have. I know the spelling for Ezekiel P. Wallis from all the original papers that I researched in Mecklenburg Co., N. C. Ezekiel P. Wallis's father changed the spelling (legally) in Mecklenburg Co., N.C. to Wallis from Wallace. Many times, though, census records and other records would always misspell it. So the Wallis family were true Scotchmen and very very much Presbyterian's from the old country. Never, never Englishmen as many Wallis spellings are. I will take your information that you sent on L W. McCarley line and match it to mine. Then let you know. Thank you so very much. Barb > >

Jim, did my post of 3-07 clear this up any. You have been so nice to help me clear up my confusion. I don't want to just drop it if I don't have it straight yet ( I think I do) but then again I don't want to "beat a dead horse to death" as they say. I will be happy to supply the complete data if it helps to understand it all. Thanks Again, Diane ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jim Giddens" <jimg@cox-internet.com> To: <TXREDRIV-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, March 06, 2003 10:50 PM Subject: [TXREDRIV] Confusion on Cemetery & Churches > Madras Cemetery is at Madras behind the Presbyterian Church on FM 1700. I have said earlier that the Presbyterian Church at Shiloh moved to Madras and then to Clarksville. After going over it, it may well be that the church at Shiloh (Old Shiloh) CR3202 moved straight to Clarksville. The Madras Presbyterian church was started at some point, I am not sure just when, but I will be looking into it more. > > RR Recollections says First United Presbyterian Church was organized at Old Shiloh in 1833 and was moved to Clarksville in 1858. > > Jim Giddens > Paris, Tx > > > > > ==== TXREDRIV Mailing List ==== > Visit Red River County GenWeb site http://www.rootsweb.com/~txredriv > > > ============================== > To join Ancestry.com and access our 1.2 billion online genealogy records, go to: > http://www.ancestry.com/rd/redir.asp?targetid=571&sourceid=1237 > >
Barb Wallis I just noticed that I have Ekekial Wallis shown as Ezekial Wallace. Based on your data and last name I am going to correct this, if it matches with your Ezekial Walllis. Please let me know. Thank You Diane Miller
Barb, I have looked at the Deed Papers several more times and it clearly looks like "L". W. McCarley. However, on the Deed he is just a Trustee of the Church not the land donor. There many have been other people that also donated land for the church. I don't think my copies will scan well but if you want to privately send me your address I will be happy to mail you a copy of the Deed papers. I have McCarley data but I have not put it very good order as yet. I believe the people you mentioned are listed below. I hope this format will work when I send it. If not I will e-mail it to you privately as an attachments. Let me know if you are looking for other McCarley data and I will share what I have.
