    1. [TXREDRIV] John W. and Ellender Stewart
    2. Billy Jones
    3. I found in the Red river 1880 census a listing for a John W. Stewart age 52 born in Ar. Ellender " 35 Tn. Julia " 25 Ar. John W. " 16 " Silovan " 13 Tx. Elisa v. " 11 " Elizabeth " 4 " William " 2 " I wish to know if anyone has information about this family. I think perhaps Ellender Stewart was Ellen Hayes, daughter of Hiram and Louisa Hayes, and lived in Scott County, Arkansas until after the Civil War. I wouldlike to learn if this is the Stewart family connected to the Hayes family in Arkansas. I'll be most appreciative of any help or suggestions! Jesus bless you, Marlene Jones

    2. Jim Giddens
    3. I just sent the map to a few more plus to Kelly Robinson for the 4th time. I do not know why he is not receiving it. If there are still others that should have received it but didn't, let me know. You may send your message to me directly at jimg@cox-internet.com to avoid clogging this county board. Kelly, are you receiving any of my e-mails that are direct to you? Jim Giddens Paris, Tx

    1. Re: [TXREDRIV] RE: LYONS in Red River Co., TX
    2. Well, I can look through RRRecollections and see what comes up. I don't have any Lyons in my tree though... There is a Otis Lyons that was in partnership John Shadid and T.F. McCoy in a grocery store from about 1915-1920s. He died in the 20s it seems. He was married to Grace Smyre. The store was in Clarksville. Herma Lynn Lyons is mentioned in an article from Cora Bell (Campbell) Wright. She is listing off children that she played with in Clarksville growing up. A John R. Lyons is one of the members of the Friendship Lodge No. 16. This is a sublodge of the Grand Lodge of Texas. Louise Lyons married Russell Roberts on June 14, 1951. Margaret Lyons married James Russell Jackson in 1965. There is a Nina Anne (Coffman) Lyons born 12/12/1883 and died 11/17/1968. Hope one of these helps... 3. Nina - Since both your father and grandfather were born in Red River Co., TX, surely the kind folks on the RRC site can provide a few leads for you. I hope you don't mind that I am sending this to the list. None of the names you mention ring a definite bell with me. I'll have to research them to determine anything. I did a preliminary search; nothing yet. I don't know about the John Lyons you mentioned. My Lyons came from Miss. to Red River Co, Tx between 1891 and 1893. They were in Lowndes Co. and Oktibbeha Co, Miss. I think my George E. Lyons came from New Jersey but not sure about this. My father was Louis Dean Lyons and his father was Clarence Holaday Lyons both born in Red River Co, Tx. Then C.H.'s father was Lemuel Artemus Lyons and his father was William Polemial Lyons (a confederate soldier), and then George E. Lyons. I think George had 5 or 6 kids, W. P. had about 11 kids and Lemuel was married twice and had a child by each marriage. Clarence only had 2 sons. If you want any more info let me know. I hope we connect. Seems like no one is researching the Lyons surname. Nice to hear from you. Nina Lyons Tarver Duncanville, Tx

If I missed anyone, let me know, of if any more of you want the map, let me know. The map shows many old communities, cemeteries, creeks and roads (main and small). The US, State & FM roads show their hwy numbers, the County Road do not list their numbers, but I have another map for that. I think soon, I will map off each quadrant of the map and can send what ever corner of the county anyone wants. The map is to big to get it all in one picture. Remember, to enlarge the map, click the attachment and open it. From there for me I click "view" and then zoom and then how much zoom. I hope all of you enjoy the map as much as I have had pleasure in figuring out how to do this.
