If you have ancestors buried on private property or government land that the law (at least in Texas) says that you have the right to visit their graves at least twice a year (First Sunday in April & First Sunday in October) from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. This year it is April 6, 2003. Section 711.041 of the Health and Safety Code provides you the rights of visitation during reasonable hours and for purposes associated with cemetery visits; however, the owner of the land surrounding the cemetery may designate the routes for reasonable access. If you cannot find the owner, or if the owner is an absentee landowner, check with the county tax appraisal office for the name and address of the owner. <A HREF="http://www.rootsweb.com/~txstc/bridge/index.html">Save Texas Cemeteries, Inc.</A> has the guidelines to follow.

    3. Thanks Max. I forwarded the information to Jesse Walker of Amarillo that has interest in Chapel Hill Cemetery and A.S. Russell. I have found out that Chapel Hill Cemetery is in northeast Red River Co. near the Hopewell area. It is a black cemetery. His Russell ancestors were connected to the Boxelder area. Maybe Jesse will be joining our the county web-site. I plan to try to get some pictures for him of Chapel Hill, but Lawrence tells me it will be a chore to get to it and find the markers. Sounds like a challenge to me. 2. Gene, I am not aware of any of my Phillips coming from TN, but it could be a possibilty since they were in GA. I am sure they would have been from Eastern TN though if that was the case. I can't think of any of them in MO either. Honestly, I don't know alot about this family since it is my step-ggrandfather's. I will look into some more now though and see what I can find. As far as Parker County goes, my mother's whole side of the family is from there. The two main families for me are Burns and Aslinger. I don't have any Pool families in my records though. I do know where Poolville is though and actually was there just a few weeks ago looking for a burial of a Martin family member. I have family there and in Peaster, which is just south of Poolville. Most of my family is either in Zion Hill or Annetta. How far back can you go on the Phillips? Right now, I only have back to 1844. The oldest known now is George Washington Phillips. Beverly Sustaire lives in Paris and Marsha lives in Mount Pleasant. Jack was a 2nd cousin to my mother. All may Phillips came to RR county from Oregon Co MO. My gg-gf came to Oregon County from Henderson Co TN. He had 14 children and their descendants spread out through OK, AR and TX. As to Parker county, my cousin that lives there is Oscar Holloway. He lives on a farm west of town. I do have a connection to Phillips in Parker County. They are on my late wife's side of the family. Miles Milon Pool b IL 1876 married Nipsie Delania Pool in Poolville, (north of Weatherford). Their daughter Juanita Inez Phillips married my wife's great uncle Clifton Richard Cast in Rush Springs OK. I believe that Miles came to Rush Springs to work in the Gypsum mile at Acme outside Rush Springs. I knew for years that he was buried in the Rush Springs Cemetery and wondered if he was related to me. When I found his obituary, I was surprised to find that he was related to my wife. She didn't even though that. Clifton and Juanita lived most of their adult life in Midland TX and she didn't know Juanita's maiden name. 3. That name doesn't ring any bells with me. Of course, route one covered a lot of territory. I have a picture of a fresh dug pool that my dad dug with a Ford tractor and scraper. On the back it says it was dug for Lonnie Tolar of Bagwell Rt 1. The tractor and scraper are setting at the bottom of the pool (no water yet) 45'x90'x 6'6" for $100.00 Does any body know Lonnie Tolar or where this pool may be. Sam maybe you carried mail to him. This pool was probably dug between 1947 and 1953. Mainly just curious, but any help appreciated. Jim Giddens Paris, Tx p.s. I have seen this picture many times but never looked on the back. ==== TXREDRIV Mailing List ==== ============================== To join Ancestry.com and access our 1.2 billion online genealogy records, go to: http://www.ancestry.com/rd/redir.asp?targetid=571&sourceid=1237
