Good to hear from you, Andrea. I use my Mantis in a sandy loam yard, and really like it. My step-daughter borrowed it for her black land yard, never believing it would handle it. Was she ever surprised. I bought the electric model because of not having to mix gasoline, ect. but they are both great I think. Enjoy, and tell us what you grow. Welcome back, Sam I was happy to see your note about the Mantis tiller. I've wanted one for years, and never had the money in my pocket at the right time. I used to dig my flowerbeds, etc., with a shovel, but age is slowing me down and I was also doing less gardening. So I finally broke down and bought that Mantis last week. I haven't even had a chance to use it yet, but am looking forward to it, so was glad to see how much you enjoyed the results of using yours. So far, I've been planting my containers, but I bought a load of nursery plants this weekend, so I plan to use the tiller this week. Andrea
Tom and all, We have discussed your Rogers connection. I notice from the tribute to my GGG GF Richard F Giddens at the Concord Church after his death, the church clerk is P.H. Rogers. The tribute was Feb 1871. Could this be your Rogers? Jim Giddens Paris, Tx

Sam, Is that where Lane Frost is buried at? If so which other world champions in rodeo? I have never visited Lane's grave, but would love to take my son someday, Son is also a bullrider and thinks Lane was the greatest. Congrats on your new tomatoe plants, I know it's a great feeling to sit and see what you accomplished. Have a great day. Darla Campbell Clarksville, Texas
Darla, Lane Frost is one of the grave markers I spoke of. He is right near Freckles Brown. Also, near by is Lidge Hammock, and the guy that competed with Hub Whiteman, and I know his name but just can't call it right now. I saw him several times, and know where his grave is, but just can't call it now. There is also another guy there by Lane. Thanks for your answer, I am retired from the Clarksville Post Office. I will think of that other guys name and send it to you. ----- Original Message ----- From: <HORSEnAROUND247@aol.com> To: <TXREDRIV-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, May 10, 2003 6:08 AM Subject: Re: [TXREDRIV] Babbling and not Genealogy > Sam, > Is that where Lane Frost is buried at? I will skip over a lot and say that the last time I was there was in the 1980's, and I was very disappointed at the changes they had made. Too many to talk about, but plenty to notice. Also, I think San Antonio is one of the best places in the U .S. to spend a week or more. So much to see, and the Casa Rio Cafe too. Wonderful to me. One more little bit of trivia, then I will hush. I always am glad to see a World Champion, no matter what it's in, and I would like to point out something close to here in Red River and Lamar County, that some of you might like to see sometime, that I think is a little extra, and would like to hear of your places I should see. I am talking about the Mt. Olive Cemetery in Hugo, Okla. that you can stand in one place and see the markers of five different World Champion's from the World of Rodeo at the same time. I think this Cemetery with this, plus all the Circus graves is well worth your time if you are in the area. I promise you will remember. Thank you so much for putting up with me again for just a little while. You have made an old man feel better. Sam >From West of Home Depot, Paris, Texas.
Some have asked where I got the picture of the Alamo. I got it from a section of the Dallas Morning News I saved a few years ago. It was on page 1 of Section F (Today section). It was the issue of Dec, 27, 1998. I have enjoyed the information and web-sites I have been sent pertaining to the Alamo. All, I am still interested in the "hump". I have read with great interest the writings of the work of the Army on the Alamo (Spanish for Cottonwood) in 1850 and they added the hump. I guess I am just a die-hard. I have looked at the pictures (best they have) of the Alamo in 1849. Ok, it does look like the Alamo. Yes, the hump is not there. Why would they "add" a hump? Could they actually been "restoring" the hump? Some of you that asked for the picture, I added to my Red River County e-mail group. I put it together only after the board was down for a few days. I did it incase it has problems again and if I want to send a picture or attachment that Rootsweb will not accept. If anyone wants me to remove them, I will graciously do so. If anyone wants to be added, I will be pleased to do that also. Contact me at jimg@cox-internet.com I have visited the Alamo 4 or 5 times if I have counted correctly and Goliad twice. Now Goliad is out in the backwoods. I also vested as boy the tomb of the men that drew the black beans and were shot. Jim Giddens Paris, Tx Remember the Alamo!!!
