    3. Jim, I have Mary L. Barnett born in 1873. The date was just passed on to me, so I cannot verify it. Given William Martin Barnett was born in 1846, Mary could have been his daughter or neice. 3. Diane, I finally found my notes. Gillie Woods Quick's parents were Marshall Lee Woods and Jessie Joe Bledsoe Woods(female). Jessie Joe 's (female) parents were Joe Bledsoe & Mary Barnett. Now for me. My great great grandfather Wiley W. Giddens had a daughter Isabelle Giddens (1848-1905) married William Martin Barnett (1846-1919). Both buried at Concord with my Giddens ancestors. I have a picture of this large Barnett/Giddens family beside the grave of Wiley Giddens at Concord Cemetery that died in 1897. Therefore this picture was taken within that 8 year time frame. Now if we can connect these two Barnetts we have some kind of genealogy connect that is fun to trace. I will keep more of my notice later. Jim Giddens Paris, Tx p.s. 1. Re: [TXREDRIV] Durham accident and rambling, not genealogy.
    2. Jim Giddens
    3. I learned today that Jim Durham of Clarksville worked in Winnsboro (about 50 miles south of Clarksville). I was told he was driving to work in the rain and a car hydroplaned and hit him. I have driven the road to Winnsboro maybe only twice in my life. The last times was 2 or 3 months ago just to take a different route on my way to work in Pittsburg that day. I recall the road from Mt. Vernon on to Winnsboro being a 2-lane highway with no shoulders and a lot of up and down hills. By the way, the other time I drove to Winnsboro was to go to a local drag strip out in a cow pasture, back about 1959. Donald Chesshir went with me the night before. We slept in my car that night until a policeman woke us up the next morning. It was my car so I had Donald sleep in front seat with the steering wheel and me in the back seat. I had a drag race with Billy Rex Tosh in his 1953 DeSoto against my 1954 Plymouth. There were no others cars for that low class, so we knew one of us would come home with a trophy. I must admit I was disappointed when Billy Rex beat me. I had beat him the couple of times we had drag raced on Hwy 37, just out of Clarksville. That was our most popular place for local drag races. From the Hub advertising sign to the red line painted 1/4 mile up the hwy. Billy Rex was from Winnsboro but his family had moved to Clarksville for operate the feed store on east Main near Harvey Brother's Tractor & Supply. Billy Rex now lives near Winnsboro on (near) Lake Bob Sandlin and I have visited him 2 or 3 times this past year. Billy Rex is fighting cancer. 3. Carol, I assume you are talking of Jim Durham, 59 of Clarksville. Visitation will be Monday night 7-8 pm at Linderman Funeral Home and burial Tuesday at 2 p.m. The Times is weekly and is not on line. The Paris News (today, Sunday) has only a death notice. The obit should be in Monday's paper. As stated, the Paris News is on line, but the obit section on-line if often a day or two after it appears in the paper. I will be on KCAR this morning and I will mention the work day. I will also talk about the county wide cemetery association. This Friday there will be a Memorial Service for Texas Ranger & Confederate Veteran at the Smith - Rosalie Cemetery at 2:00 for John Dodson Holdaway. His family from North Dakota is replacing his head stone. They have been trying to find a confederate flag but so far everyone I've contacted can't make it. If you know of someone who could be there with a flag at 2:00 it would be appreciated. Thanks Becky

    2. Jim Giddens
    3. All, Tomorrow night (Thursday night) there will be a total moon eclipse centered at 10:40 p.m. that will begin at 10:14 to 11:06 central time. This is according to a message I received from a classmate of the Stargazer Web site. Maybe we can all do this together no matter where we live. I did this once while on vacation in N.C. and talking to family back in Texas. It gave me a unusual good experience (feeling) that we were over 1500 miles apart, talking on a cell phone and looking at the same object (the moon) at the same time. Also if anyone is in the area and can make it to the Old Shiloh Cemetery work day this Saturday at 9:30 a.m., I will see you there. Jim Giddens Paris (Reno), Tx (about 100 yards from the Union Grove Cemetery on US 82.

    2. Hi Sam, About 3 months ago, my daughter and I took a ride to Hugo, Ok to go to Mt. Olive Cemetery. I have some Fox and Reynolds buried there from my Fox side and I have Griggs from my Robinson side. It was real funny the day we went. I had a map and layout of the cemetery that I had printed off of the Choctaw County website. I had turned into the cemetery and turned onto the first road to the right and parked so I could figure out the layout and what direction I was heading. All of a sudden my daughter started hollering and all she was saying was "Lane Frost is that Lane Frost!!". She kept repeating that and pointing. It took me a minute to realize what she was talking about. We were both in astonished. Here we had drove from Duncanville to Hugo, Ok just to find some Fox, Reynolds and Griggs and we found Lane Frost's grave. He markers are beautiful. And then there was all of the circus in the next section over. This cemetery is an amazing site to see. Sure is worth the trip to visi! t it. I need to go back because I discovered that I had missed one of my ancester when I was there.Have a good day.Nina Lyons TarverDuncanville, Tx

There are also no indications that messages are bouncing. I would like to hear from each of you to make sure you get this, either on the list or privately. (Just people with a starnet account).
