    2. Hi, I asked for names of any Orphanages in RR Co and Sherman was mentioned ....so was a Boy's Home in Mesquite..... I'll take the names of any Orphanages in the surrounding areas and check all of them. I just know she packed up and left the farm southest of Clarksville City. The one in Sherman may have been the only one that could take her and the 7 kids or they may have been the only one that had an opening for a cook. I appreciate any and all suggestions. 3. All, I hope my remark wasn't taken by anyone as disrespectful to the dead. Just as yesterday as I was spraying weed killer on the grave of Aunt Mollie, I said "Hold Your nose Aunt Mollie" Actually she was a aunt of my dad but we always called her Aunt Mollie. Her read name was Mary E Atkins Giddens, born to Bennett & Sara Brunson Atkins. She died in 1975 and may be the last person buried at Concord Cemetery. She and my grandmother Giddens use to live together on Donoho Street about a block or 2 south of Clarksville High School. I remember stopping and visiting with them as I would walk home from school. They always had a bowl of candy on the dresser. The candy was Honey Nut Maples. I never saw that candy anywhere else and thought they must be very special. I was shocked one day when I saw the candy in the bin at the Duke & Ayers 5 & dime Store. I still think of those two ladies when I see Honey Nut Maple candy in bags at the grocery stores today. I think I have the name of the candy correct. Aunt Mollie is the only person buried at Concord that I remember every meeting. Her two sons were Homer & Ira Giddens. Some of you probably remember Ira Giddens from a jeweler at Clarksville the a rural route mail carrier. Homer & Ira are both in the WW II book of Red River Co. My grandson and I did walk the land behind Concord Cemetery today here my GGG GF built his home when he came there in 1833. A very pretty clearing in the middle of very pretty cedar trees. Got to rush now and drive to work in Pittsburg (Tx). 3. There was a Orphanage at the corner of 56 and 1417 just outside of Sherman TX west side that took in most of the people from that area, the buildings are still standing but it has long sense closed. I am sure that the court house has a list of people that were there it was state aided.
