    3. Bob, Yes the Woodlands Methodist Church is still active. I was there on a Saturday about 3 years ago for directions to the Woodland Cemetery meeting (about 1/2 mile up the road). A very neat, clean, well kept church. The fellowship hall behind the main church building has a cemetery plot map on the wall. I don't remember the details for now. I wonder if Mary Holloway of Detroit would know anything about the Reynolds records. She has a gift/antique/handcraft business on US 82 in downtown Detroit. I forget the exact name of the business, but it is something close to "Songer". She does have e-mail and has been a silent member of this list, but she may have left it because she told me she just did not have time. I stop in a visit her about twice a year, which is not often enough. Maybe I will get a chance to talk to Mary about it soon. Do you think the marker would have any helpful information. 3. Thanks Sam and Jim: This funeral home handled a funeral for Bessie L. Diseker who died 27 Jan 1944, age 78. Services were at Woodland Methodist Church with burial in Woodland Cemetery under the directions of Reynolds Funeral Home of Detroit. My grandmother Bennie Collier Diseker Bruce died in 1925 and was Buried in Woodland Cemetery. I was hoping that maybe someone purchased the Reynolds Funeral Home and maybe I would find burial records of my Bennie Bruce. I would like to have address of the Jane Maas, if still living, in the Dallas area. One more question? Is the Woodlands Methodist Church still active? If not do you know where the records would have been transferred and maybe an address? 3. I spoke of Bill and Eliouse Taylor. Bill died around a year ago. Probably around 70 at that time. They lived on the old family farm place about 6 miles south of Avery and he started and operated the Taylor Monument Co on US 82 in Avery. Their daughter Janie and her husband Don (Hall ?) operated the business now. I remember Bill's dad living in Avery. I thing the farm was Eliouse"s family farm. I recall Bill saying he first worked in Lubbock in the monument business before coming to Avery. We once lived in camping trailer in the Taylor's yard for about a week or more when we were between houses in Avery about 1974. Maybe Bill and his dad are not originally from Red River Co. Got to get ready to work today now. 3. Jo, I will keep a eye out in case I can connect this Worthan to your Wortham. Maybe with the age I can work on it. I will check the Concord minutes for the Ivey name. Do you know if John Ivey had a wife in 1859? The women's classes are also listed. My Mother had his obit glued to the back of family Bible and I had hoped to find the original. I was told some Librarian at one time saw no need to keep old papers so they were destroyed. How sad! 3. Carol, The year stated on the front page says "Serving Red River Co since 1873". I have been told that a lot of years had been just not saved or thrown out, but I have not well informed on the exact years or the filming of the years that someone does have.. Sharon Black and others of the RR Co Gen Society are into that filming project. Check the web-site of this board for the Society and the people in charge. Sharon is not receiving messaged from this list because of a problem with her server, Starnet in Paris. I will forward this to her directly.. Good Luck. I hope to get stared toward Avery in the next few minutes.
