    2. Jim Giddens
    3. Paris news also has story of Clarksville City Council condemning 13 properties. Also Jim Missildine of the Detroit (formerly of Avery 7-eleven) has bought property (3.5 acres) near the Red River on Albion road. I wonder what he will do with this property. He has always been a business man, but I thought he retired from all that when he sold his covenant store just west of Detroit around a year or 2 ago. I guess I will learn later. Missildine bought Eddie's parents business in Avery just after I went there in 1969, sold it several years later and put in business at Detroit. Jim Giddens

    1. [TXREDRIV] Oran Ford ,missing man
    2. Jim Giddens
    3. Oran Ford (husband of Betty Ford) has been missing in Red River County since Saturday. Yesterday (Monday's) www.theparisnews.com has a story on it "Bogata Man Missing" I first heard of it Sunday afternoon on the police scanner at my wife's parent's home in Clarksville. He has had touches of dementia (memory problems). He was last seen driving around in north Red River County in his pickup, stopping and visiting a few friends. Oran and Betty lived across the street from parents home in Clarksville (College Ave) around the period of 1959. As of last night they still had not found him. I hope they find him just lost on a back road, but I fear worse than that. Oran is 74 years old. They have had police, VFD, and helicopters searching for his him in his 1995 red Ford truck. Betty said he had just filled up both tanks of gas and he could drive as far as 600 miles on those gallons. He is diabetic and does not have his medicine with him. Sunday they were searching the Hopewell, Negley & Bagwell area. He had told one of these people he was going to visit a man in Okla. Jim Giddens Paris, Tx p.s. I have not heard any news on this, this morning.

    3. I see now that you referred to the older Bill as William. I only recall him being called Bill, and the son, Billy Ray. I never met William, he must have been a fine man. Yes, the grocery store was/is the building on the corner. I wonder if Billy Ray is still running a grocery business in it. I should have noticed in recent months, but I haven't. Shame on me. I will next time. Jim Giddens Paris, Tx p.s. Is my type coming to you much smaller that it did in the past. I am glad you pointed that out as it could result in confusion to anyone else. By the way, I have done quite a bit of research on the BOZE family and am happy to share. 2. Hi Jim, Thanks for the history on this and I appreciate your checking the old prescriptions. I was ten years old when my grandmother Cooper passed away, but I have fond memories of visiting with her and going to the drug store for "coffee break" while visiting with Katie Moore. A child's memory can be easily confused, but I think Katie and Bill bought the Cooper grocery, which was on the end/corner of that line of businesses. The Moores were also family connections through GG-Grandparents William Thomas (1850-1920) and Emily Jane Chaney BOZE; daughter Isadora married Emmerson MOORE and daughter Corena (1878-1950) married Dr. COLLVINS. 2. Jim Giddens
    3. I see in the Paris News today the obit of Horace Weldon Stinson, 68 of Paris, born in Avery. He has 5 surviving brothers, James, Boss, Melvin, Joe and Irb Stinson (I thing the last one is Irby Stinson that was mayor of Avery the when I as on the city council. He does have other surviving sisters and children. Hummmmm, the obit is confusing to be as to if the siblings are deceased or living, but I think living. His wife died in 1988. The preacher officiating at the service is Bro. Jim Elsom of Paris, is a very good friend of mine. Bro Elsom will be 80 in August. The name "Boss" was recently mentioned on this board. I also see the obit of Allie Blance Holder, 86, of Decatur, formerly of Avery. Her deceased husband was Amos Holder. I wonder if Amos was a brother to Enos M (Gid) Holder of Avery that was buried at Savannah Cemetery in 1999. Jim G

    1. [TXREDRIV] Executions
    2. Charmaine Riley Holley
    3. Someone posted this url on another list and although it is not where I would want to find any of my family, it certainly is interesting. You can go to any of the states listed and then scroll down the chronological list to see who in what county was executed for what crime. There are a few from Red River Co., along with surrounding counties. http://users.bestweb.net/~rg/execution/ Charmaine Charmaine Riley Holley archivehobbit@mac.com "...but hobbits have a passion for family history." - Tolkein in Lord of the Rings
