I'm here, I been pretty busy working plus Sue's dad in hospital in Clarksville, Sue and I have a new great grand daughter about 6 weeks old here in Paris, plus tomorrow our oldest grandson is coming to live with us and go to high school here in Paris. He will be a freshman. We pick him up at his mother's home in Garland, Tx tomorrow. Yesterday was my birthday and I spent 3 hours of it weed-eating at Concord Cemetery while Sue as at the hospital. I get great pleasure working the old family cemetery. Oh yeah, my wife got me that $200 metal detector for my BD. Now I need to read the instructions to get the best out of it. I am also dealing with the IRS about the year 2000 and tomorrow Tom finished up my wife's dental work. She will be grinning from ear to ear. Hey, I also go a nice raise "today". Other than all this, things are normal. I haven't received anything from the Red River list for two or three days and I'm getting worried. Is everyone alright, or did I get accidentally booted off the list? Mike Gibson Mesquite, Texas

Here is the Mills obit JimG Billy Ray Mills From staff reports The Paris News Published July 20, 2003 Billy Ray Mills CLARKSVILLE - Billy Ray Mills, 39, of Grandview, Mo. died Wednesday, July 16, 2003. Funeral services are set for Monday, July 21, in Lindeman Chapel with the Rev. James Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time on Monday. He is survived by his father, Wilburn Mills and wife, Charlott, of Rowlett; mother, Mary Mills of Texarkana; daughter, Megan of Liberty, Mo.; sisters, Sandra Roder of Omaha, Neb., Rebecca Milkie of Dallas, Jeanie Weary of Garland and Patricia Hose of Rowlett; three step-sisters; two step-brothers; seven nieces, a nephew, two great-nephews; and a great-niece.
My mistake about his death. Glad to hear he is well. My brother in law was on that team also. However, what caught my eye was the Bagwell part, because I have relatives from there, and I knew they were not related to Wilbur, but that would not keep him from being from there also, but I remembered him from Fulbright. Get you a copy as soon as I can catch Jim at home. List, I am a little late with this message, but I saw something about Wilbur Mills death. Someone mentioned he was from Bagwell, and he could have very well been. However, I gave James Gullion a picture of their baseball team at Fulbright, and I think the year was 1949, the year they went undefeated for the year, and this Wilbur Mills that died awhile back, was a member of that team. I could get you a picture of the team if it would be of use to anyone. Sam Paris.

Would someone on the list please check cemetery records for either or both Nancy E. TITTLE TERRY and/or Lucy TITTLE TERRY. Both of these women were married to Henry Clay TERRY and there is something definitely wrong with birth, marriage, and death dates for these two as posted on another site by another researcher. I am trying to determine if these are my two TITTLE sisters or from another family. Hello, I am trying to figure out why my Thomas J. MORRIS was assigned power of attorney by Lucy Ann SPOTSWOOD HOPKINS (2nd wife of Richard M. HOPKINS) on 28 Feb 1870. Richard M. HOPKINS was one of the earliest settlers in Red River Co. (also Miller Co) and married first Nancy CLARK, daughter of Gilbert CLARK. Since the CLARKS and HOPKINS were original Red River Co. families I am hoping that someone knows of the connection. I know that the CLARKS were from TN as was my MORRIS but I am thinking that there must be some connection to either the first family or to Lucy SPOTSWOOD. Steve Eads, I meet myself coming and going sometime in my genealogy research/rambling sometimes, but have I told you I just this week learn for a Mills/Giddens relation through the Strattons in N.C. in the late 1700s. GGGG Grandson of Reuben & Nancy Stratton (Strutton) Giddens. A Stratton (Strutton) married a Mills back in N.C. I think the bride and Nancy were related (maybe sisters or niece). I learned this from a Larry Mills in Atlanta, Ga while search my Giddens. He is aware of some of his Mills in other parts of Texas and think they may have spent some time in RR Co also. I will forward his e-mails to you if interested. Hey List! I talked to Jeri this morning, Joepete's wife, and she told me he's in St. John's Hospital in Creve Coer, just outside of St. Louis. His white count was way down so no flowers, fruit, or visitors! She hopes to bring him home in a couple of days, if he starts responding to the medicine. He's having a hard time of it, they've found more cancer, and of course, being 80 years young, his body doesn't take to the medicine too well. Can't operate, can't do radiatioin treatment, but he's on chemo. I don't know if ya'll know what a special man joepete is. He's a decorated WWII veteran, was in the Air Force for 31 years and worked at the VA in Washington DC for 19 years. When his time comes, he will be either interred or entombed at Arlington. A true hero, he was on a bomber that was shot down over Europe, crashed in the English Channel...the story he told me curled my hair, and made me so sad for all our young men that go to war. I always tease joepete and call him "Gump", because he's been everywhere when things were happening. WWII, Japan, Miami during the Bay of Pigs, Birmingham during the Civil Rights marches...and started off in RRCO, up Kiomitia way. We are related several ways, but the one that comes to mind quickest is he and my grandfather, Sam Brock were first cousins. His Mama was one of the numerous Walker sisters, Joseph Walker being the man that ran that plantation up Kiomitia way. I have learned a whole lot from joepete about my family, and how things were back "in the day" Let's all send him prayers of peace and love, and painlessness.
