I am researching the KILBY and JACKSON surnames in Parker County. So far my great-grandfather's name, J. W. JACKSON, and birthplace have not been verified. He died August 1943 in Anson and is buried at Lemley Cemetery next to his wife Annie KILBY who died in 1941. Annie and J. W. owned the farm directly across the road from the cemetery from about 1900 until about 1940. Annie's father was Anthony KILBY. He is found on the 1850 census in Arkansas; the 1870 census in St. Landry's Parrish, Louisiana; and then Parker Co. in 1880. Supposedly he is buried in a cemetery off Authon Road. Family story had it that he was buried at Bethesda Cemetery and thanks to responses from an earlier post to the list I located that cemetery, but not the grave. There is another cemetery called Authon Cemetery that I would like directions to now if anyone knows the location. Here is what I do have about this family and their descendants. It is entirely possible that I do have cousins still living there that may have more information about the KILBYs and JACKSONs. I would like to connect to anyone researching of these names. 1 Anthony KILBY b: Bef. 1820 in NC; occupation blacksmith according to 1870 Louisiana Census. If you made it this far reading this message, I would like to share a little interesting side note. Not knowing the exact location of the farm or Lemley Cemetery, my husband and I met with a builder earlier this year to find a place to build a home in Parker County. The area appeals to us very much. It so happens that when I took my dad for a drive to look at our lot location, he mentioned that the Jackson Farm was in the area. With our map we found it only about three miles north of the location of my new home. My father's family lived there for a few years in the 1920s and later in the 1930s. Thanks for any help.
