John, I looked in the Index to the Indian Depredation Case Files and found a listing for a Clem Hightower (he filed case number 3526). See my web page for details on these files at http://shell.rmi.net/~pacarter/depredations.html There was also a Freeling Shadrack Hightower who married Sarah Jane Terry. Freeling was killed by Indians on Feb 21, 1867 near the Jack/Young county line. They had a child named Freeling who was born after the death of his father. Sarah remarried several times.
