I'm searching for Clarence Clifford DRAKE's parents' antecedents in Whitt, Parker Co., TX where Clarence was born 9 Sep. 1896. His father was Thomas Andrew Drake. His mother was Anne (maiden name unknown). Anne died when Clarence was young, but he remembered her red hair and temper, so he wasn't overly young. Thomas Andrew was killed in the coal mines in IT when Clarence was a lad. Clarence returned to Texas where an uncle reared him. I don't know if this would have been his mother's brother or his father's brother. Does anyone have access to cemetery records in Whitt? Possibly marriage records? Perhaps the 1900 Whitt, Parker Co. census/soundex that would tell where Thomas and Anne were born? Perhaps later censuses/soundexes that has Clarence living with an uncle? Clarence returned to Oklahoma (same area where his father was supposedly killed but was not located on the necrology for that area) where he married my father's half sister.
