Hi to everyone: I am searching for more information concerning Allen C. and "Dusky" Hill and their ancestors. Allen C. Hill was born about 1814 in Alabama and died 1863 Parker Co., TX (shot by vigilantes near Springtown). He married, or lived with, Ladusky/Laduska/Dusky/Duska. Her surname is unknown but may have been HOWARD. She was born about 1826 possibly in TN. and died 1873 in Parker Co., TX by hanging at hands of vigilantes near Springtown. Their children included: Nancy b. 1848 TN & d. 1873 Parker Co., TX (hung). One of Nancy's boyfriends was supposed to have been Sam Bass. She was to have killed more than one person including her own newborn.; Martha b. 1851 MO & d. 1873 Parker Co., TX (hung); C. "Jack" b. Ark. D. 1870 in gunfight in Montague Co., TX; Katherine b. aby. 1853 TX & d. 1873 Parker Co., TX (hung); Allen C. Jr. b. TX arrested for murder in 1881 in Palo Pinto Co., TX. and later killed by gunshot.; Adelaide b. abt. 1856 in TX and d. 1873 Parker Co., TX (hung); Elize b. abt. 1857 TX d. 1873 Parker Co., TX (shot or hung by vigilantes) and Isabelle "Belle" b. 27 April, 1860 TX and d. 28 Dec., 1925 in Lake Co., OR. mar'd John C. VINYARD. I am a great great grand daughter of "Belle", the only surviving child of Allen and Ladusky. I've read a couple old newspaper clippings about the family and the hangings. Also, an article in a 1966 issue of THE OLD WEST magazine about the story. I've noticed there are numerous Hill families in that area in that time period. But, no idea if or how they're related to Allen Hill. This family is not one that I would claim. But, they are my ancestors. I do not condone their activities. Quite the opposite. I would like any information, folklore or otherwise, about this family. It will be appreciated. Thank you.
