Kay sent this to me and I thought I would pass it along to the list! THanks Kay!! Dear Traci, The Catholic Branch of the Masonic Lodge is the Knights of Columbus. The Knights of Pythias is a different organization entirely. The Pythian Home in Weatherford is one of the only standing and still functioning homes left in the country. Downtown on the square there still stands an old building that was the early lodge of the Knights of Pythias, I think. It is quite a nice building with a "knight" in full armour crowning the top decor. Can't remember the date in the bricks, but I think it was around 1889. The Masonic Grand Lodge in Waco (P.O. Box 446, Waco, TX 76703) has index cards on all Masons, (past and present) in the state of Texas and has provided me with valuable clues as to my ancestors trek across Texas. Sometimes when I would lose one of them, the masonic card would help me relocate them. They kept excellent records, including their offices held, relocations, and date of death. I have tried Grand Lodges in other states but have not been as fortunate. I would think the Pythian Home (and archives) would have similar records of old members, but I have not had the occasion to use them. I do think there is a cemetery on the grounds of the Pythian Home somewhere. The director there is Peggy Hutton, and the phone number is (817) 599-9052 during regular business hours. Hope this info will help you, and perhaps some others as well. Kay Davis - Willow Park, TX
