Linda, I am a Hill descendant, my John Rhoten Hill was in Parker co , he was a Methodist minister from NC. I believe some of the Hills there were his kin, although I haven't researched them yet. That is very interesting article you sent in, I would like to know more about them if you have the newspaper clippings to post. My 3rd GGF Morgan Miller and two of his sons were supposedly hung in Nacogdoches co TX as horse thieves. I know what you mean , but they were our family.
