My grandparents, Robert CHRISTIAN and Margaret CHRISTIAN (no relation) were married at the Balew Springs church. We have been searching for years for information on JOHN CHRISTIAN, Robert's father, who we think may have lived in the same area. John CHRISTIAN was born abt 1820 in Tenn. and married Margaret C CAMPBELL born 1822 in Tenn. They resided in Texas (county unknown) c1840-1849 where 4 children were born. They next appear in Hempstead Co.,AR 1850 census. Four more children including Robert were born there. They are next listed in Columbia Co.,AR 1860 census. In 1863 John CHRISTIAN had 1 more son, James Rufus CHRISTIAN, born in Mineral Wells. James' mother was Mary Elizabeth GARRISON. We have never been able to find out what happened to John after that. Margaret (Campbell) CHRISTIAN and their younger children also moved back to Parker Co., and it appears that James Rufus had a congenial relationship with them. Can you shed some light on this mystery....WHAT HAPPENED TO JOHN CHRISTIAN? Do you know of anyone else working on this line?.......Thanks.....Melba On Mon, 3 Jan 2000 06:27:27 -0600 "Bel Wise" <wise@prodigy.net> writes: >Ballew Springs Baptist Church was a WWII casaulty as the pioneer >church and >its burial grounds were located in the area of the Camp Wolters firing >range.
