Hello Parker County, I am new to this list and seeking any information about my great grandmother Martha "Mindy" Armenda Davis Shirley that was adopted by Rev. Bob Shirley and his wife Sina that lived in Parker County (maybe near Whitt) in 1870. "Mindy" was born May 12, 1870. Family story says she was left on the doorstep of Rev. Bob Shirley. He heard a noise on the porch and when he went to check found the newborn baby. He caught a glimpse of a rider on a white horse riding away but could not tell if it was a man or a woman. He rode throughout the county looking for anyone that owned such a horse but the only one he found appeared not to have been ridden lately. When my grandmother applied for her Social Security Card she listed her mothers maiden name as Martha Armenda Davis Shirley. "Mindy" married Boyd Alonzo Michael on January 27, 1889 in Whitt, Parker Co, TX at the age of 18. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Jan Gray
