To all who requested look ups on the 1900 Palo Pinto Co. census: I've gotten quite a good response to my offer! <grin> I think as I go through looking for your people that I will attempt to transcribe and/or print out the census (although the copies aren't always as good as the microfilm) and then I will be able to do this for everyone beyond the 30 days. So, please be patient. I have printed out all the requests and will take them with me each day that I go to view the roll. Melinda
Melinda, thank you for your kind offer. I am not sure if the marriage took place in Parker or Wise co. Rebecca Allen (maiden name Carter) and James (or Jim) M. Eubanks. Thanks Charlotte Rhome E Schrock wrote: > I have the microfilm of Marriage Certificates from 1874-1889 in Parker > County, TX for about 30 days if anyone wants a look up. I am seeking information on the Hopewell School that used to be situated on the Salt Creek road on the Parker/Wise County line, circa 1920. When the school closed the children all consolidated with the Poolville School. It has been reported that a Baptist Church was near the school. I would like to learn the name and history of that little Church if anyone out there knows anything about it. The school and church were technically in Wise County but many folks that lived north of Poolville attended the church and school. Shirley,
Melinda ... Would you be so kind as to send me the TURNER's that are listed? Thank you VERY much ... Hi Melinda.... What a nice offer. If you have time I'd love for you to look up my great- grandparents marriage. The family Bible says John A. HARRIS of Weatherford Texas ~To~ Fanny DOTTERY of Bellefontaine, Miss on April 5th 1874~ Now I know it's a possibilty that they were married in Miss or before the cut-off date on the film or somewhere else entirely. Thanks for any help. Carolyn Davis Whitmire
I have the microfilm of Marriage Certificates from 1874-1889 in Parker County, TX for about 30 days if anyone wants a look up. These are indexed and also show the actual pages. Melinda
Am seeking information on the Sherrill family or families that lived west of Poolville, circa 1920. I am specifically looking for Ella Sherrill who married my grandfather, Jim Hobbs in 1919. The only information I have on her is her name on their marriage license. Since it was my grandfather's 2nd marriage, it may have been Ella's as well. Any information would be welcomed.
Carolyn, I am not the Springtown Smith person but I, after reading your e-mail, see you may have some Smiths in your tree. I, too, have many. I'll just name some names and see if any of them look familiar: Benjamin Boyd Smith, William Newton Smith, Lelah Highfill Smith, Charles, Betsy, Albert Ross, Andrew Jackson John Egger, Clarissa Jane, Cora, Florence, Jackson Void, Josiah,Judiah, Myhills....those are some and all were Smiths. Let me know if any look familiar and we can go from there. 8:-) Sue M. I am researching the above families. Would like to hear from anyone who have information about them, Thanks, Lenora
I have read the histories on these communites from the Parker Co. history book. Has anyone done any further study on these small nearly obsolete towns? Thanks, Lenora
Does anyone have any history on a John W. Williams? He was on the 1860 Tarrant Co. census. He is listed on the historical marker at the cemetery and it said that the cemetery was on his (John W. Williams) property. I would appreciate any help you could give me. Thanks, Lenora
