    3. Pam, I'm sorry I do not know how to look up Cemeteries unless they are online. All my relatives are buried in Poe Prairie Cemetery and it is not online yet. Have you been to the Parker County web page? I believe they have some look up volunteers for some of the cemeteries. I noticed you have Montgomery as a surname you are researching. So do I. I'm researching Montgomerys from Georgia and Arkansas. Most of my Montgomerys ended up in Parker County. Melinda Pam Pugh wrote: > Melinda, > I have family that I think was buried in Parker County. 3. Please,I need help--------------I am new to this list and would like to submit the surnames I am researching: Tom William MASSIE b.?d.? married Minnie REDDING b.?d.?. I know they had more than one children but only know of one, my grandfather: Millard Lloyd Massie b. 7 Sep 1906 d. Sep 1976 married Hazel GOUGE b.? d 1929. Millard was my grandfather and filled out his Social Security application as being born in Millsap, Texas. Most of this information came from that application. They lived in that area as my mother, Mary Lou MASSIE MONTGOMERY,b. 20 Nov 1928 d. 21 Jan 1994, went to school in Weatherford, Texas. Also, my mothers brother, Melvin MASSIE, was murdered in Fort Worth, Texas during my mothers senior year in high school--about 1945. I would be very interested on any information, newspaper articles, etc. about that happening. If any of this looks familiar, please contact me, I have a little more information, but not much. Thanks, Pam Pugh Orange, TX 77630 E-mail: Pam3721@pnx.com

    2. Melinda: I hope you can locate a marriage date of my g-g-grandmother in Parker Co., Texas. Her name was Angeline Robertson and she married Wallace Thompson "Tomps" King. He was a Justice of the Peace , I believe. I have little infor on either of them because there was a fire and Angeline died rather young leaving behind 2 daughters and possibly a son. Wallace Thompson King 20 Oct. 1836 and he died 13 Jan. 1895. I do not know where Angeline is burried etc. Thanks for posting and I appreciate any info you can send my way. Angeline's parents were James Monroe Robertson born abt. 1817 in VA (I think) and Elizabeth Ann Harrison born 27 Jan. 1819 in Daviess Co., Indiana. They are burried at Rock Springs Cemetery, Parker Co., Tx. Thanks again. Marion

    3. Hi - I'm new to the list, so hope I've not made this too long - the following concerns people in both Jack and Parker Cos. - Three YOUNGBLOOD brothers moved from MO to Parker Co., TX - James and William - 1850-1855, and Francis Marion bef. 1868. William was killed and scalped by indians 1860, but his scalp was retrieved and placed on his head before burial in the Fondren Cemetery. Also there is a marker for Elizabeth Youngblood, dau. of W.B. FONDREN (no dates). Would like to confirm this was his wife - and who their children were. (There appears to be 2 sons and a dau on the 1860 census, but can't make out the initials used). James L.YOUNGBLOOD -(1st wife unk.) had 4 ch. b. 1856-1859 when he md. Elizabeth (HENSLEY) COOK, widow of C.C. COOK, who "was killed by indians near Ft. Belknap". She had 3 COOK ch., and she and James had 4 more. Altogether there were: (1) a dau. "S" (1856) (2) Wm. A. (5 June 1857-16 Mar. 1884); bur. Gibtown Cem.; md. 1876, Jack Co. to Sarah Ann EDWARDS, who remarried 1886 to Marion DODD. (3) Joseph M. (b. Apr. 1859); md. M.A. COOK 1884, Jack Co. (4) James L., Jr. (b. ca. 1859) (5) Pinckney Addison (1869-1955); bur. Jacksboro Cem. (6) Robin Rosena (b. ca. 1870); md. 1897, Jack Co. to J.B. SWETMAN (7) Virginia (b. ca. 1872); md. 1889, Jack Co. to E.F. CHEVES (8) Samuel H. (30 Sept. 1875-1 Mar. 1892); bur. Verner/Green Elm Cem. The COOK ch. were: (1) John (b. ca. 1853); Laura (b. ca. 1856); William (b. ca. 1859) - all b. AR. James L. YOUNGBLOOD appeared on the 1860 and 1870 census in Parker Co.,but was not listed there on the 1875 tax list. His wife, Elizabeth, is bur. in the Verner/Green Elm Cem., Jack Co. - (2 Feb. 1831-5 Oct. 1898). His bro., Francis Marion, in Parker Co. 1870, with dau., Mary Ann, and there in 1880 with step-dau.(granddau?), Louisa STINNETT. Would like any info on these people, or contact with anyone researching these lines. My access to Jack Co. records is quite limited, so any help would be most appreciated. Thanks! - Dorothy Quaife - Springfield, MO

    3. Melinda, I would very much appreciate any marriage record info on the Morgans. It is hard for me to give you exact first names because in the bible record they are written with initials. I know there were three girls. In 1914 their last names were Cox, Brannon and Mallory. I don't know if this was a first marriage or not. There was also an A.C.R. Morgan, male, which I believe his name was Clark. I think there was one daughter named Hillary. Thank you for looking in advance. Shirley Reed shirleyreed@earthlink.net

    2. Hi Melinda.... You have helped me even tho the names I wanted were not in your book. I have seen the books on file at the FHC and I wasn't sure which one to send for. There are two. One up to 1874 and another from 1874 and later. So now I'll send for the earlier one and see if I can find them. I guess that will tell me if they were married in Parker County or not. They may have gotten married somewhere else. Perhaps MS. Again, Thanks, Carolyn Davis Whitmire

    3. Ok, guys. Here is what I found on the marriages from 1874-1889 in Parker Co., TX. I went through the three indexes (1874-1880), (1880-1885) and (1885-1889) at least three times just to make sure I didn't miss a name. I'm sorry that a few were not there as far as I could tell. They are: B. F. Highfill to Marietta, James M. Eubanks to Ms. Carter, John A. Harris to Ms. Dottery, James Gilliland to Ms. Baker, or Ardrey/Ardry. However, I did find: W. B. Gilliland to Miss E. L. Mooney T. M. Nichols to Miss Martha A. Ray License 25 Feb. 1885 marriage 2 March 1885 J. W. Nichols to Miss S. A. Dooly License 31 Aug. 1876 marriage 8 Sept. 1876 Thomas Turner to Mrs. Cintha (?) Ellis License 2 Oct. 1875 recorded 9, June 1875 R. G. Turner to Mrs Eva Stafford 9 July 1883 Hope this helps--Melinda
