    3. Dear Tamara, A couple of suggestions: 1. Check the 1870 Wise Co. census. There seems to have been a county line dispute around that time and it could be that they were in the part of Parker (Wise?) that was under dispute. 2. Write to Wise Co. for a death certificate. There records are sometimes available for folks in Parker Co. also. (There was a lot of Indian action in that area during the 60's and 70's. I have one family that actually moved back to their home state for five years after being here for 2 or 3 years. The Indian problem and the Civil War were both reasons to go back "home". 3. Write to the Genealogy Dept. (a great one!) at Weatherford Public Library and request that they check the "family files". The address is: 1214 Charles St./ W'ford, TX 76086 Happy hunting, Kay Davis

    2. Tamara Stevens
    3. Hello to all! I need help with my gg-grandmother, Margaret Elizabeth Brown b. 4 Dec 1861 in MO (according to the Parker Co census - 1900). She married James Monroe Dobbs on 17 May 1877 in Parker Co, TX. They had four children: Monroe Lee b. 1878; Eva May b. 1881; Ethel b. 1887; and Essie b. 1893. Margaret died 17 Jan 1938 and is buried in 'Little Bethel' Cemetery on Old Springtown Rd. in Parker County. I have searched the census of Parker Co. in 1870 looking for her with her parents to no avail. There is no death certificate on file at the Parker County Courthouse, which doesn't surprise me. I've several female relatives that I KNOW died in Weatherford with no death certificate. So, short of searching every Brown in Missouri in 1870 looking for a 9-10 yr old dau. named Margaret Elizabeth, does anybody have any ideas on how to find more on this lady? Wild goose chases welcome!!! :>} Thanks for any help, Tamara West Stevens Visit my site! http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Flats/1179

If you think I may have not gotten your look up request, please feel free to request again. I copied all three indexes and will have them available any time. Unfortunately, the indexes do not give wedding dates. Some of the actual marriage pages are signed with such beautiful calligraphy that it would be worth ordering the microfilm just to get a copy of the license. Good Luck! Melinda
