    2. Shirley B. Reed
    3. Need to make correction on previous message I sent on the marriage of S.A.F. Montgomery (Sallie) and T.M. Morgan (Thomas Matthew Morgan). I mentioned he was married to two other women after that and wondered if "Maggie" had died or they had divorced. The name should have been SALLIE. Shirley

    2. Shirley B. Reed
    3. On Dec. 12, 1895, a S.A.F. Montgomery (Sallie) married T.M. Morgan. His full name was Thomas Matthew Morgan. I would like to know if anyone knows of this lady. I found Thomas later over in Childress. According to the obits of his parents, he was there around 1913 at least. He was a physician like his father Dr. W.A. Morgan (who practiced many years in Weatherford) and had a hospital named the Morgan Hospital in Childress. He was called Dr. Tom. He was also married to two other women. I wondered if Maggied died or what. Anyone out there know? Shirley Reed

Daniel's first wife was Elizabeth Sprout Brien b. in Logan co., KY. She came to TX with her widowed mother and sister, America Sale Speer who md John Carson, about 1845 with the Peter's Colony. Elizabeth died in 1886 in Palo Pinto Co. but I don't know where she is buried. Their mother, Catherine Perrin Brien md a Parsons but was soon widowed again and didn't remarry.Would like to know when she died and where she is buried. Another son, Benjamin Franklin Speer died in Jack Co., TX 1863 during the Civil War and his only surviving child, Henry Franklin Speer, was raised by Daniel. Henry later became a well known business man in Dallas, TX. Would like to know anything in re: to the history of this family. Billie Gilmore - Thompson Falls, MT

    3. My Springtown, Parker Co. TX family began with David Alexander YOUNG m. to Minerva MATLOCK who migrated from Polk Co. TN in September of 1859, arriving in November of the same year. Their son Henry L. YOUNG m. Elizabeth MORROW. Their son was Willy Alexander YOUNG m. Jennie Lee ROBINSON. There are alot of us around the area and other states from these strong people, and we are very proud of them all. 3. Hi! Regarding any Texas Ranger info, the Texas Ranger Museum in Waco (right off I-35) has a wonderful research library and perhaps someone there can help. Last time I was there I met (and got a photo of) James Michener who was also researching for his book Texas! They also have a website. Do a search on them and perhaps some info you can use will be there. Kay Davis

    3. Dear Jerry, I too have a relative that was a member of the Woodmen of the World. Seems like a read a little about it once and although it might have been an organization, seems like there was "insurance" connected to it as well. I have seen many Woodmen of the World tombstones in my 20 years of research, but have just never looked enough to determine exactly what it was. I can't find the article, or any notes I might have written, so if you find out will you let me know too? Contact me at: kaywd@flash.net Thanks, Kay Davis

    3. Here's a URL for your friend to search for Benjamin Johnson, Texas Rangers. http://www.tsl.state.tx.us/lobby/servrecs.htm I found my great grandfather was a Texas Ranger and was very pleased with the copies they sent me. Even gave the color of his hair, eyes and complexion, plus his height and found he had a very nice handwriting as he had to sign his papers.
