Do you have any information on the following families: Searching for any information on James Milton Walker. He was born between 1830-1831 in MS. He married Sarah Elizabeth Sewell Abt 1849 in MS. Sarah was the daughter of Isaac Sewell and Mary Lewis. She was born 02-011834 in Alabama and die in 1903. They had two sons Richard Quimby b. July 1856 in Texas; m. Sophia Augusta Moore, July 23, 1874 and Burl Greenwood b. May 13, 1859 in Texas. After their marriage they moved to TN and then slowly moved westward to Texas (Harrison, Johnson, Hood, and Parker counties). He was in the 1860 census for Johnson County but showed no parents or birthplace. I have been looking for James for several years and would appreciate any connections. I also have many connections for the Sewell (Sowell) family going back several years to Thomas Sowell, Sr. Jimmy Walker Marmaduk99@aol.com wrote: > My gradfather was an early settler of Parker Co. This cemetery is listed on the Parker County web site, but does not include a location. Can someone tell me where Bethesda Cemetery in Parker County is located? My great-great-grandfather is supposed to be buried there. Thank you, Dana Sparks Fort Worth, TX a0004917@airmail.net
OK. I have some data which might give you some clues where to look for Phifer in Parker County. Alonzo L Phifer b.11/23/1887 d.3/20/1961 Burial Dilbeck Cemetery Ollie B Phifer b.11/03/1889 d.4/17/1950 Burial Dilbeck Cemetery My information lists Alonzo L Phifer noted as the son of WA & Martha Phifer. W A "Uncle Bud" Phifer (no birth date) d.3/10/1928 Burial Peaster Cemetery Martha Ann Phifer b. 6/16/1867 d. 4/28/1934 Burial Peaster Cemetery My information lists Martha Ann's maiden name as Hunt and that she was the wife of W A. These notes also indicate that W A was the son of Joe & Nancy Phifer. I have no other information on Joe and Nancy. W A and Martha seem to have other family members buried in Peaster. Pearl Phifer (no birth date given) d 3/10/1928 (daughter) Mary L Phifer b 4/5/1892 (no other date given) (daughter) Alfred Hale Phifer b 11/27/1889 d 4/20/1980 (Eng 2 US Navy WWI) (son) The only other Phifer in the data base is also buried in Peaster. I have no other notes on this person. Ollie Phifer b 3/18/1896 d 11/9/1963 (TX F1 US Navy WWI) You will note that Alfred Hale and Ollie both show military service. This type of data is usually noted from the tombstone inscription. Hope these clues are helpful. If they are please let me know. - Jo Ann Kendrick Robinson Karen Venable wrote: > A. L. There are several Phifer's (not Phiffer) buried in Parker County. Pearl, Alfred Hale, W A "Uncle Bud", Ollie B, Ollie, Mary L, Martha Ann, & Alonzo L. I have the dates and cemeteries if this is the family you are interested in. All were born in the 1800s. The earliest is 1867. The adults died between 1928 and 1980. - Jo Ann Kendrick Robinson Marjorie Delese wrote: > Looking for anything on Lon and Ollie Phiffer. in Parker county in > early 1900's. > Thanks, > MDelese > > ==== TXPARKER Mailing List ====
Hello, I'm trying to find information on a couple named Charles and Fannie LESTER. Her maiden name may have been TANNER. They would have married after 1880 but before 1896 in probably GA or AL. She may be the Fannie TANNER listed as 12 on the 1880 Cherokee Co, AL census. In 1896 they were in Parker Co, TX where they were listed on the widows pension for Adeline TANNER. She was filing as the widow of Silas TANNER who was a Union soldier from GA and later died in 1875. Any information on any of these folks would be appreciated. Thanks so much for the info.My dad was b.in Parker County in 1916 but they were in Ark. by 1916. I know that Lon and Ollie Phiffer were his relatives, don't know exactly how. I think the Alonzo was probably Lon and Ollie has to be his wife. I have a picture (probably early 1900's on the back it has Lon and Ollie Phiffer (two f's) Weatherford, Tx. In the picture it's a man woman and little girl prob. about 5yrs. I would like to have the dates and cemeteries, these names can't be coincidence I don't believe. Maybe who ever wrote on this picture spelled the name wrong. I remember my dad talking about lon and ollie. My gfather's name was Alonzo Wilson. Thanks so much for your help.
