In the 1860 census of Parker Co. there was a L. Williams who lived in Copper Hill. I have a Leroy Williams that lived in Copper Hill in 1900. Could he have been Lewis Williams that voted in the county in the year of 1870? Any information about this man would be appreciated. Thanks, Lenora

Ive received inquiries directly or through the list regarding copies of the THE OLD WEST magazine article about the hanging of the HILL women and their lawless ways in Springtown in the 1860s and 70s. I would be glad to send copies of the magazine article and old newspapers clippings to whoever requests them. Some of the newspaper copies do not come out real clear because I have a copy of a copy. But, it will still be mostly legible. I would ask for a donation of $2.00 or equivalent in postage stamps to cover the cost of the envelope and the postage. I can make copies at no cost. Email me direct with your request, full name and mailing address. You can put the $ donation in the mail to me. Or write to me at: Linda Noel 171 Trinity Lane Reedsport, OR. 97467 Also, I received an email note from Gloria Elam (GlorElam@aol.com) who is Program Chairperson for the Legends Museum in Springtown. She said that the President and founder of the museum, Mr. Laurie Moseley (Mosely@airmail.net) has written about the Hill family which is in spiral bound form now but will later be made into a book with illustrations. The spiral bound form can be ordered for $10.50 plus $1.50 shipping by contacting Mr. Moseley (Mosely@airmail.net). Gloria did not give me a mailing address. The proceeds go to the museum. So write or email me if you want copies of what I have about the hangings and contact Mr. Moseley direct about his book. For the person that asked where they could obtain an actual copy of the magazine. I really dont know. Guess youd have to start asking magazine collectors or maybe libraries. Okay, I'm ready for the requests! (smile) Linda _______________________________________________________________ Get Free Email and Do More On The Web. Visit http://www.msn.com
For Ann Hill and all, Azle straddles the Tarrant and Parker County lines, so folks with ancestors in that area need to look in both county seats. Shirley Garcia
Re: Azle, TX It is located partially in Parker and partially in Tarrant Counties. On your deed records, if you can pull the location by survey name, there is an old survey map of Parker Co. in the public library as well as in the county clerk's office. Then you can see better where he probably lived, and probably is buried somewhere nearby. Cemetery lists for Parker Co are available in the public library as well as in books created by the Parker Co. Genealogical Society. Downtown Ft. Worth library genealogy department (bottom floor west) also has a wealth of Tarrant and Parker County info. Kay Davis
Is Azle in Parker or Tarrant County or is it in both? What is the oldest Baptist Church in the Azle community? 2nd question: Anyone familar with the surnames: Hellums, Cearly, Jamison please contact me. These families were in Parker Co 1880 census. Recent land deed tells us that Dread Cearly owned property in the Azle area in the late 1880's. Trying to determine when he died and where buried and well as any Hellums family members. Thanks
Hello Linda, Do you have a copy of the 1966 "The Old West" publication that you speak of? If so, is it possible that I may have a copy of the story? Since it was my gr-gr-aunt that witnessed the burial when her husband was a Texas Ranger, it has piqued my interest. Shirley Hobbs Garcia
