A relative of mine was George Washington DAVIS, b. abt. 1844 in San Augustine County, TX. I believe he died July 11, 1904, in Palo Pinto, TX. However, I cannot locate the source material or the reason I entered this date in my files. Alfonso (Alphonso) Freeman enlisted in the confederate forces in Parker County in 1861. The 20th Brigade, Captain John B. Tompkins was one of the officers. also called Beal No. 1, Parker County. Thomas C. Moore 1st or 2nd Leutenient in Captain Dave Yearys Company. John Tompkins was one of the officers. This is a calvary unit. William Greenberry Moore same as Thomas C. Moore Joe C. Moore son of William Greenberry Moore: served in company K 5th Texas Calvary Sibley's Brigade. Thomas Martin Moore same information as Thomas C. Moore (his father) Enlisted on Pennall Prarie (Parker County) Discharged Johnson Springs (Parker County) Camped at Johnson Springs (Parker County) I think most of these individuals were more involved in protecting the area from indian raids at the time. I have been waiting for my 1G grandfathers death certifcate from Coachalla, Riverside CO. Calif. It came in today and the below is what I have at present time about Monroe Jackson Wells and his parents. Unknown Wells born Illinois married Vina Jennings who was born Illinois. (From Monroe Jackson Wells death cert. T.R Wells informant) They lived in Pala Pinto CO. Texas, and family lore also has them owning land at Sherman Texas. Also Vina Jennings as a possible caretaker or Dr. who made her rounds on horseback. ---------------- Lillie Mae Reed memory is: Monroe's father and Vina Jennings had 15 children.They had 5 sets of twins and 5 singles. "I remember Claud Wells his wife Lila, and Edward Wells whose wife's name was Bell, and Monroe Jackson Wells was married to Edna Mae Woods." ---------------- Unknown Wells and Vina Jennings had the following child: Monroe Jackson Wells was born Pala Pinto Co. Texas 5-23-1879 and died 1-25-1947 Coachella (Rural) California, at 67 years of age. Monroe was a Farm Laborer (From Monroe Jackson Wells death cert. T. R. Wells informant.) Monroe married twice. He married Edna Mae Woods probably Pala Pinto Co. Texas, 10-1899 and Edna died 1908 Elk City Okla. He married second Ocie Teague after 1908. Ocie Teague was sister to Ora Bell Teague and Otis Teague. Monroe Jackson Wells and Edna Mae Woods had the three following children: 1. Neoma Beatrice Wells was born 10-21-1900, Pala Pinto Co. Texas. 2. Thurmond Rayburn Wells was born 1904 and married Ora Bell Teague. 3. Vera Mae Wells was born 1906. She married Otis Teague. Monroe Jackson Wells and Ocie Teague had the following children: 1. Willie Dee Wells died at 3 yrs of age.. 2. unknown son, (Family Lore) At one time he was mistaken for the Lindenburg baby aftr he was kidnapped. Because of their having blonde curly hair. Ocie had to produce his birth certificate before the FBI would let her take him home.
