    3. Posted on: Palo Pinto Co. Tx Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Tx/PaloPinto/851 Surname: KUNETKA ------------------------- Hi D. Graves: I also have been researching the KUNETKA surname. As you well know there are not many in the United States that I know of. I will provide you some brief information on my KUNETKA ancestors. Some of which is documented and some which is heresay. As I understand the relationships a Joseph KUNETKA who was my great-great grandfather married Anna RYDEL in Hodslavice, Moravia. My understanding that this union had 5 or more children. 2 sisters never came to the United States but the 3 sons did. Joseph Kunetka who was my great grandfather married Anna Barton in Hodslavice. A son Joseph and daughter Anna was born there. They came to Fayette or Colorado County Texas in November 1873. My grandfather Frank KUNETKA was born in probably Colorado County Texas in January 1874. He married my grandmother Anna KUDELKA in 1896. (To the best of my knowledge he was a farmer and my great grandfather was shown living with him as shown in the 1900 census. Sometimes after my mother was born in November 1903 the family moved to Palo Pinto County where he worked as a miner until his death in our about June 1907. His last daughter was born in Palo Pinto County in September 1905. Another son John was born in 1877 and a daughter Mary Ann was born in 1881 both in Ammansville,Fayette County, Texas. Another brother to my great grandfather Frank KUNETKA married Anna KRIZAN prior to coming to the Colorado County, Texas also in the 1870's. He and his family moved to Sweethome in Lavaca County, Texas and later moved to DeWitt County, Texas. It is my understanding that they had 10 children. Another brother to my great grandfather Ondrej (Andreas) came to Fayette County, Texas probably also in the 1870's married Veronica FOYT and settled in Fayetteville in Fayette County Texas. I think they had about 8 children. If these are the KUNETKA family lines you are working on. I would be delighted to exchange information with you. Erwin A. Pavlik I live in Giddings, Lee County, Texas.

    3. ----- Original Message ----- From: "jasson" <jasson@wac.com> To: <OKROOTS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, September 28, 2000 9:28 AM Subject: [OKROOTS] dust bowl migrants to california > My name is Jason Holtermann I am 23 years old and attending college. I am working on my senior theses research paper. My grandfather was born in Oklahoma in 1920 and in 1935 his family moved to California. They like most other dust bowl migrants found work in the fields in the central valley picking fruit and so forth. During the war my grandfather joined the navy. What I am looking for is other dust bowl migrants or their descendants who came to California from the dust bowl region of Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, Missouri, and Kansas. I am interested in the work they did when they arrived in California, the work they did during the depression, and the work they did during the war. Those who respond to this message please email me directly. There is no need to bother the rest of the list with my request. If you know of anybody or you subscribe to other lists that might help me please respond, I need as much input as I can get for this survey. Thank You, Jason. > > > ==== OKROOTS Mailing List ==== >

I found my great-great-grandmother's grave in the Davidson Cemetery west of Mingus using the registry. Good luck. Michael Pettit

    1. TX-Cemeteries
    2. Donna
    3. Hello, I am proud to announce the creation of a new mail list called TX-Cemeteries. This list has the encouragement of Gerron S. Hite, Cemetery Preservation Coordinator in the History Programs Division of the Texas Historical Commission and he's excited at the opportunity to share his feelings about our cemetery preservation to a large group all at once Others that have been notified, Lee Campbell, Past Representative for the Texas State Genealogical Society {and my cousin} and her friend, Past President of the TSGS Wanda Donaldson. I've let all the following people know about the list and they may join from time to time. Yvonne Pickens, current President of the TSGS. Trey Holt, coordinator for the Texas GenWeb. Wyndell Taylor, creator of GA Cherokee County GenWeb page, {and my cousin}. <Smile> I just have a lot of cousins !!!! The main focus of this list will be to locate and catalogue our endangered cemeteries. Gerron Hite has obtained a new program to help us give our cemeteries "Historic Texas Cemetery Designation". He is willing to help us learn how to accomplish this designation. This will also be a topic for us to address. I am an experienced RootsWeb mail list admin. Currently I manage the mail list for VARoots, SC-Old Pendleton-District, and the Brand surname list. I am also experienced in the survey of large and small cemeteries. In addition to the topics above there will be discussions on how to preserve and restore old monuments with the help of a caretaker with over 25 years experience. To join the mail list simply send a message to TX-Cemeteries-L-request@rootsweb.com with only the word subscribe in the subject line and nothing else. If you prefer the Digest send a message to TX-Cemeteries-D-request@rootsweb.com with only the word subscribe in the subject line and nothing else. I look forward to seeing you there, Respectfully, donna brand
