And it does not show up by searching the USGS site at http://geonames.usgs.gov/pls/gnis/web_query.gnis_web_query_form I DID find it on your GenWeb index of post offices at http://www.rootsweb.com/~txpost/poindexc.html Does it no longer exist? 1. Corcoran/Goodbar/Williams
    2. LADONNA VIERTEL
    3. Am interested in hearing from anyone descended from Mary Jane Corcoran who married Wallen G. Williams in Fayette County, Illinois in 1876 before they came to Texas in late 1800s. Her sons were Ed and Daniel Corcoran. Ed married Lou Ella Goodbar. There were also marriages between Williamses from Illinois and the Goodbar girls from Palo Pinto in the 1890s-1900s. My g-grandfather's brother took one of the Goodbar girls back to Illinois where he lived, but she is buried in Indian Creek Cemetery in Palo Pinto County. If there are any descendants of these folks on this list, please contact me. Thank you.

    1. Obituary for J F Webster
    2. Donna
    3. Hello, I wrote a few weeks ago concerning the Sturdivant Cemetery and the grave of J F Webster listed in the inventory. http://www.rootsweb.com/~txpalopi/And_W.html Webster, J F (male) born about 1836, died 12 Sept. 1896 A cousin visited the cemetery and could not find this marker. I'm wondering now if maybe the stone has been broken or something the way the inventory reads. I guess my next question would be to ask if there was a newspaper in Palo Pinto in 1896 and if the obituary may have been recorded in it. Is there anyone who knows the answer to this question? Any help will be very appreciated. Thanks, donna http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~txcemeteries/

    3. Hello list, I am new to the list, and researching the surname MILLING of Palo Pinto County, Texas. In our family records we came across an old piece of paper that was in a bible. 1. Railhead/ Epidemics in Palo Pinto
    2. It is believed that my great-grandfather Edward William Young moved his family to Palo Pinto Co., From Lee County TX to work as a n railroad dispatcher He was in Lee County in 1880, working as a dispatcher. and died July 1 1882 according to the Family Bible that I have. The family was in Mineral Wells in 1881-1882 dating from some pictures taken at Clogerson's in Mineral Wells. In the history of Mineral Wells, is there documentation of any epidemics of Typhoid or Cholera that would have killed a 31 year old man. On 6 January 1890, his widow Bettie Jane married William Hittson, in Nolan Co., TX and they were on the 1900 census in Palo Pinto Co. living in Mineral Wells with a nine year old daughter Adela. My grandfather, Stephen N Young, was Edward and Bettie Jane's youngest child and born after the 1880 Lee County Census and was a dispatcher for the RR as well. Any help or clarification would be greatly appreciated. Susan Young Medford OR

    3. Hi all, Just subscribed to the list. Haven't been here long enough to know what the most recent topic was, so forgive me if I am beating a dead horse. Just found some Webster family in the Sturdivant Cemetery, Palo Pinto Co, and want to ask anyone who might know the answers to some questions. 1.) How do I get to the Sturdivant Cemetery from Johnson Co.? 2.) Does anyone have any connections to the J F Webster born about 1836 and died 12 Sep 1896, who is buried there? 3.) How do I contact the author of the work, Toni Richard Turk? 4.) Is there a map of the cemetery? 5.) Are there other possible Webster cousins living in the area? Will appreciate hearing from anyone who might be able to help. 2. Lillian Liles
    3. You all might check your local library for the Palo Pinto County History book. I have a condensed version of it, but the names you are asking about are not listed in it. The one in the (Mesquite) library has much more info. There are some Allens, but not the ones you asked about Michael. One family was from Missiouri and the other from Rusk County, Tx.
