Jan, I see a Thomas T Bradford on sheet 14B ED 122 "Justice Precinct". Is there a possibility this is the same one married to your Frances? The very first time I find my Taylor family is in 1880, living in Caldwell County, Texas. My Cornelius Taylor is supposed to have been born in Indiana, 1826. I am assuming, by census and, by the age of a son, William T. Taylor, he was married before he married my great grandmother, Louisa Hollingshead. I know, not a good thing to assume anything in genealogy. On the Caldwell County census there were 6 children, William T., born 1864, Mary Taylor, born 1874, Viola Victoria Taylor, born Feb. 12, 1875, John Taylor, born 1876, Zora Ziola Taylor, born 1878, Lula Taylor, born May 14, 1879 all in AL. By 1900 the family was in Custer County, IT-OK with 2 additional children, Lela F. Taylor, born May 1884 and Claud, born April 1886 in Texas. William T. Taylor married Sarah Newton in Custer County, OK in 1897. Viola married William Riley Griffin in Custer County, OK in 1899. Lula Taylor married Elmo Trigg and moved to Palo Pinto County, Texas. In 1900 they were living in Palo Pinto County with 4 children. 1900 Palo Pinto, TX Census records Elmo listed his occupation as a coal miner. Lela Taylor is living in same household with her parents in 1910 with a 6 year old child. She is listed as a widow and her surname is now Cummings. I have no idea who she married nor what happened to her husband. I have been told she married a man named Gold McEntyer and died in Pampa, Grey County, Texas. Zora Ziola, married William Morton in Custer County, OK. I know nothing of John, Mary or Claud. Cornelius died sometime after 1910. I do not know where he is buried nor the date of his death. He was on Custer County Census in 1910. I know his wife, Louisa, was visiting my grandmother, Viola Victoria Taylor Griffin, in Titus County, TX when she died in 1917, There was almost a family feud when she was buried in the family cemetery in Titus County instead of being shipped back to OK. I wish I knew more about these ancestors of mine. Thanks for any information, Darlene

I'm still searching for any information on Robert Douglas Smith, who was in the Mineral Wells area in the 1940s. Robert was one of four sons of Sam Allen Smith and Ada Stanford. Ada died somewhere between 1895 and 1905-10. Burial place unknown. Sam Allen Smith died in Young County, near Olney. Robert was the brother of my grandmother Essie Mae Smith Adkins (husband - Luther William Adkins), and three other brothers - Heza K., Horace, and Walter. Any leads greatly appreciated. Thanks, Lucille Adkins

I did not remember subscribing but only wanted the news of Palo Pinto Co. It has grown to so many request that do not concern me is why I want off the list. I resent your statement "You subscribed this way and were reminded how to unsubscribe when your name was added to the list. Subscribing and unsubscribing are automatic processes, so these specific methods are required."!!! I will take your advise and be happy to unsubscribe as you have stated. It would be a lot more pleasant to add the unsubscribe info to each message so folks do not have to receive a reply such as yours. I have seen others that have wanted off the list and it would have been easy for them if the unsubscribe information was added to each message. Have a good Day! Michael, Their is a publication titled "A Short History of the Patillo Community of Erath Co., TX" by Charles S. McCleskey. It is in 2 volumes. I know that Tarleton College (I believe part of U of Texas) located in Stephenville has both volumes. On Page 45-46 is info on a Henry Hampton Allen family that came from Alabama in the late 1800's. (Info in Vol 2) It also has school pictures of the children from 1910-11. Henry was born c 1874...son of George W. & Sally Jordan Allen...who were buried at Green's Creek near Stephenville. I dont know if he is connected to your Allens's just passing along some info that maybe of interest to you. In Bosely Cemetery (Palo Pinto Co) are buried a Manuel Allen 1866-1942 & Robert B. Allen 1853-1905...I dont know if they are connected to the foregoing Allen's.. Several years ago I asked the people in the Library, Genealogy Section, at Tarleton to make copies of some pages for me...and they did...I don't know if they will still do that. Good hunting! Allen's is not a family I am researching Jim S(California) << earching for any information on ALLENs buried in Sturdivant Cemetery. What information do you have on the Eoff line? I have some Eoff information. It is not from Palo Pinto Co., but think it is from Stephenville area, which would make it Erath Co., also there is a Brown Co., connection with some Eoff families. From what I understand on the early Eoff's; There were two brothers that imigrated from Germany in the 1700's. Give me a bit of time and I will pull out what I have on the Eoff line. My parents were married January 24, 1909, in a buggy, as was a custom back then. They married outside the preacher's home, or maybe it was a Justice of the Peace, at Gordon, TX.My dad was Lester L (L L) MCELROY and my mother was Ella Jane MCKINNEY. He was 20 and she was 15 years old. Ella was the daughter of John (J J) McKinney and Eliza Jane (Jenny) PLEDGER McKinney. My grandfather was a rancher and also a former member of the Confedracy, serving from the state of MS. He was born 1843 in Lincoln Co., TN. He and my mother shared the same birthday, June 13, he in 1843 and she in 1893 - she was born on his 50th birthday. She was child number 12 out of a family of 14. My grandmother was born in GA and her parents were Wesley Pledger, a Methodist preacher, and Eliza Abagail (Jenny) HAMILTON. The Pledger family came to Hill Co., TX after the Civil War with other Pledger and Hamilton families. My grandparents married in Hill Co. in 1871. My dad was the son of Jacob Silas and Sarah Elizabeth YORK McElroy. He was born Feb 20, 1888 in Boone Co., AR. His family came to Bosque Co., TX when my dad was about six months old. They also lived in Erath Co.His mother died there in 1895 and is buried at Huckaby, TX. ----- Original Message ----- From: <CajinCoon@aol.com> To: <TXPALOPI-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, January 15, 2002 10:25 PM Subject: Hi New List Mom > Hi all list Mom here > .Would you please post some queries on some names you need help on. > Name, date , places are what information you have .
