I have sent for records a few times, and usually get the info in from 3-6 weeks. I have always used the letter that I have found when accessing the SSDI. That is proof of death, and that is all I have needed, as that has the SS#, etc. I guess that if you don't have that, it might be harder to get. Betty Martin
