(note: Company “B” spent most of the War stationed at Sabine Pass, Texas. Company “B” was formed in Jefferson County (Sabine Pass), Texas.) ROGERS, AUGUSTUS M., Enlisted in the service of the Confederate States of America, and served “Honorably” in the Orange County, “Coast Guard”, “Merriman’s Company”, “Local Defense Troops”, C.S.A. Mounted Confederate Soldiers that patrolled the Orange County, Texas water ways on horseback for enemy activities and ships. Received a Confederate pension from the State of Texas. Pension # 18220.
