B., “SERGEANT”, Enlisted in the service of the Confederate States of America and served “Honorably” in Company “I”, 13th Texas “Cavalry”, “Flowernaughts”, C.S.A., later “Dismounted”. (note: Company “I” was formed in Orange County, Texas.) FAIRCHILD, J. J., Enlisted in the service of the Confederate States of America and served “Honorably” in Company “I”, 13th Texas “Cavalry”, “Flowernaughts”, C.S.A., later “Dismounted”. (note: Company “I” was formed in Orange County, Texas.) FAIRCHILD, SAMUEL A., “CAPTAIN” “COMMANDING OFFICER”, Enlisted in the service of the Confederate States of America on April 29, 1861 and served “Honorably”, as “Captain” of the “Orange Greys”. 2nd Brigade “Texas Troops” “Cavalry”, C.S.A., later “Dismounted”. This was the first Confederate Company of three formed in Orange County, Texas. Captain Fairchild merged several other Companies in fall of 1861 to form Company “I”, 13th “Texas Cavalry”, later “Dismounted”. He also Commanded this newly formed Company as “Captain”. This was the second Company to form in Orange County, Texas. Served as County Judge in Orange County, Texas, from: April 1858 to July, 1858. Samuel served as “Sergeant” before “Captain”. FAIRCHILD, WILLIAM L., “FARRIER”, Enlisted in the service of the Confederate States of America and served “Honorably” in Company “I”, 13th Texas “Cavalry”, “Flowernaughts”, C.S.A., later “Dismounted”.
