W., (needs Headstone), Enlisted in the service of the Confederate States of America and served “Honorably”. RATCLIFF, JOHN VAN, Enlisted in the service of the Confederate States of America, in October, 1861, and served “Honorably” as a “Private” in Company “A”, “Spaight’s Battalion”, “Cavalry”, C.S.A. He was at his time of enlistment a resident of Orange County, Texas. He was “Honorably” discharged from said Confederate service on the 5th day of May, 1865, by Commander Leon Smith. (Obtained from “Southern Cross of Honor” application…his writing). Received a Confederate pension from the State of Texas. Pension # 21176/46314 (Two). (note: Company “A” was formed in Jefferson County (Sabine Pass), Texas.) RATCLIFF, LEROY, Enlisted in the service of the Confederate States of America and served “Honorably”. Received a Confederate pension from the State of Texas. Pension # 09090 RATCLIFF, WILLIAM GORDON, (needs headstone), Enlisted in the service of the Confederate States of America and served “Honorably”. Received a Confederate pension from the State of Texas. Pension # 36050. RATCLIFF, W. R., Enlisted in the service of the Confederate States of America and served “Honorably” in Company “D”, 11th “Spaight’s Battalion”, “Texas Volunteers”, “Infantry”, C.S.A. (note: Company “D” was formed in Tyler County, Texas.)
