I have been to the TXShare <http://www.tsl.state.tx.us/texshare/pl/index.html> website and it doesn't have 1830/40/50, 1880 or 1930 census but it is great, and doesn't cost. Just ask your local librarian, or go to the website there is a list of participating libraries. Researching: WHITENER in Navarro Co. It takes a little longer to search, but if you know approximately in which precinct they are located it isn't too hard. I've been able to find other relatives living nearby using the browse method. If you know the page number, you can figure out a short cut. Doris
Bunny... I have been useing TexShare for a long time and really did not know that all the census are on there. Until this discussion started I did not see it... When you get into HeritageQuest go to the "search census"... the page will come up to enter name, etc.... but don't do that. LOOK UP TO the upper LEFT corner of the page and you will see the word "search" and under it is "browse". Click on "browse" and it will take you to a screen listing all the census records. The rest of them are there, there is just not an index yet. So if you have time to go through the images, or can get access to a index for where you want.... you can get the census records for all those census's.
