NEVA LOUISE ALLEN-WHITTEN, 89, peacefully passed away in her home on March 23rd. 2005 in Sugar Land, Texas. She was born August 7th, 1915 to Barry and Jo Lena Frost in Corsicana, Texas. She married Robert Brooks Allen and they had 42 wonderful years together. She was also fortunate enough to reunite, later in life, with a childhood sweetheart Marion E. Whitten of Corsicana and Arlington, Virginia and they spent 10 wonderful years together. A devoted wife and mother whose passion was gardening and painting, she loved spending great times with her sister, and best friend, Katie Frost Neal of Galveston. She is preceded in death by her husbands, Robert Brooks Allen and Marion E. Whitten and her brother, Sam Frost. Neva is survived by her sons, John Lawrence Allen and his wife Diana and Robert Rike Allen and his wife Diann; sister, Katie Frost Neal; grand children, John Bryan Allen, Jennifer Elaine Allen, Natalie Hegwood, Alicia Haynes and Angela Hogue; 6 great grand children; nu! merous nieces and nephews; her step children, Reed Whitten, Robert Whitten, Kathy Clements and Ann Swylock; step grand son, Whit Clements; and her loyal feline companion Maxine. A private committal will take place at a later date.In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Houston Humane Society.
