I am writing a book about my cousins, Jake, Celia, and Pauline AMSEL, who lived in Durant, Oklahoma but are buried in YOUR Corsicana Hebrew Cemetery. Test me: go to the Corsicana Hebrew Cemetery and you find their graves. It is in connection with my book that I asked for a list of train depots. My cousin Pauline Amsel, murdered in Durant, OK, was buried in Corsicana,TX in 1914. I wanted to know if and how her body was transferred to the Hebrew Cemetery there. No ulterior motives! I may live in the Middle East, I may live in Israel, but that does not make me a terrorist. I resent the insinuation that my request has anything to do with your current situation in the US. And now, a few words about Israeli and terror. Ask US, we know, we have been living in the shadow of terrorist attacks of every possible size, shape and form, including bombs in loaves of bread, bombs in packages, and bombs in people. More than one thousand Israeli have died in the recent troubles--and the country is so small that we either knew them personally or knew someone who knew them. So don't talk to me about terror. I am proud of my American heritage. I am proud of my Jewish/Israeli heritage. I am proud that my AMSEL family were pioneers of the American Southwest. Presently, my own children are serving in the Israeli army--battling terrorism wherever it occurs. Melody... In writing your book, I do not see the need to know the train depot's between any two locations ie. Druant OK to Corsicana, TX. So, therefore I, too, would not furnish anyone... and I mean anyone... that information. Wouldn't it surfice to say that the possible means of transport was by rail, auto, or even wagon? After you know the names of all the depot's you still don't know which way the bodies were transported and why the need to know each depot that a possible train transporting a body would go through? The best way to narrow down the information on the means of transport would be through the funeral home records in OK. Also, I find obituary announcements really helpful. You might try that in newspapers in Durant, OK as well as the Corsicana, TX papers. If you don't have access to obtaining microfilm there, each Library usually has a list of researchers that charge a nominal fee to look at those old records for you. My hesitation in giving out depot locations would not be because of your name, location, etc. There are folks in the US that do not need that information. Good luck in your research.
