    3. Thank you Ann for taking the time for the lookup! Of the names you mentioned, I am interested in the Martins in Hamilton-Beeman Cemetery. I am not sure if they are mine, but the names you listed are all found in my George's immediate family. We have sever Mary's, a Martha and a William Allen. Perhaps this could provide a link to why my George migrated from Cherokee to Navarro County. Dates would help me confirm or eliminate these individuals from my query. --Patrick >From: "Ann Marcey" <amarcey@hotmail.com> >To: contrite1@hotmail.com >Subject: RE: [TXNAVARR] MARTIN/CEMETERY LOOKUP - OOPS! >Date: Mon, 17 May 2004 21:07:47 -0500 > >So far, I have found George Thomas Martin (Daddy) b 12oct1888 d 24 jul 1961 >common stone with Willie Mae Martin 13 sep 1895 d 8 dec 1931 -- Oakwood >Cemeter, Corsicana -- a possible descendant of your george. > >In Hamilton Beeman Cemetery south of Corsicana G. 3. Hello, The names that are listed at the Hamilton-Beeman Cemetery are my relatives and my ancestors. If anyone is related to those names please email me. I would be glad to share all my data with you. My Martin family begins in North Carolina with William M. Martin b. 1826 NC, both parents born in NC. In 1849 he married Mary Elizabeth Young b. 1825 NC, both parents born NC. They married in Rockingham Co NC, and are in the 1850 census there. As of 1854 they were in Henderson Co TN where they stayed until 1878 when they moved to Navarro Co TX. James Nathaniel Martin b. 1837 NC was probably a younger brother to William M. Martin, and this James N. Martin also is found in Henderson Co TN, and as of 1880 census is also at Navarro Co TX. My ancestor William Martin probably died in Henderson Co TN sometime between 1869 and 1878. Or perhaps died on the wagon trail to TX? I believe his children are: 1. George Wesley Martin b.1850 NC 2. Caroline Martin b. 1854 TN 3. Basley Martin b. 1865 TN 4. Joseph Allen Martin b. 1867 TN (my ancestor) 5. Margaret Martin b. 1869 TN 6. Edward Martin b. 1850 NC (I am not sure about him?) My ancestor Joe Allen Martin married Nancy Elizabeth Doolen of Navarro Co Tx, d/o William Doolen, one of the earliest settlers of Navarro Co TX. They moved to Montague Co TX, probably near Sunset, TX. Their children were: May W. Martin b. 1892TX Dan L. Martin b. 1893 TX Jessy Martin b. 1894 TX Joe Alfred Martin b. 1899 TX (my ancestor) Jim D. Martin b. 1904 TX Roy B. Martin b. 1905 TX The second wife of Joe Allen Martin was Nora Johnson, she is buried at Sunset Cemetery, Montague Co TX. Best regards, Lilly Martin d/o Billy Joe Martin, s/o Joe Alfred Martin, s/o Joe Allen Martin, s/o William M. Martin and Mary Elizabeth Young, both of North Carolina. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Patrick Martin" <contrite1@hotmail.com> To: <TXNAVARR-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, May 18, 2004 5:12 AM Subject: Reply to Ann Marcey: [TXNAVARR] MARTIN/CEMETERY LOOKUP - OOPS! > Thank you Ann for taking the time for the lookup! > > Of the names you mentioned, I am interested in the Martins in > Hamilton-Beeman Cemetery.
