I checked my database of place names and the Handbook of Texas without finding it. Nor is it in the USGS place name database. I also looked at Texas Almanacs for 1912 and 1925 (the only years I have in the era you mentioned) and did not find it. The Almanacs back then didn't list every town; lists were of towns with post offices or incorporated towns. So Bevins must have been a speck. Sorry to strike out. Roger Bartlett

    3. Bevins is in the same county as Atlanta, which ever that one is (might be Bowie).
