    2. VERLA MAE GUSEMANO, age 77, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away into the arms of her Savior on Wednesday, January 7, 2004. She was born to Elmer C. and Frankie M. Breland on October 15, 1926, in Corsicana, Texas. A lifelong resident of Houston, she graduated from John H. Reagan High School. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Frankie T. Gusemano; children Toni and Michael King, and Tannie and Suzanne Gusemano; granddaughters Kalie Gusemano, Franki Gusemano, and Grace Verla King; brothers Jerrell A. Breland and wife Pat, and Kenneth D. Breland, all of Houston. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, friends, and tennis buddies. Her unwavering devotion to her family and her gifts of laughter, optimism, and deep spiritual conviction will fill our hearts always. The family wishes to express gratitude to her compassionate caregivers including Drs. Tenczynski, Tang, Kochar, McDonald, and Kaylani, and Robin, Julie, and Dawn. The family would like to ivite friends for visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, January 11, 2004, with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home, 13102 North Freeway, Houston, Texas 77060. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, January 12, 2004 in the chapel of Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home followed by a rite of committal at Resthaven Cemetery.
