Household: Willis Goodman, 35, b. KY; Mary Goodman, 30, b. LA; James, 12, LA; Willis, 10, LA; Sophia, 6, LA; Eugenia, 4, LA; John, 2, LA. There was only this family and another Goodman family in Orleans Parish in 1850. There was a John Godwin in LA in 1850 whose age was not even close to your John. I was not able to find the Willis Goodman family after 1850 nor a John Goodman/Goodwin born in LA. In 1900 John's father was listed as being from Georgia and mother not listed. In 1910 and 1920 his father was listed from AR and mother from MS. John should have a death certificate on file that may list his parents names if Elizabeth knew who they were. What names appear on his application for pension as "witnesses" to his service? I can try to find those persons to see where they were after the war. Paula
