Keen Robert "Earl" Keen, an 18-year Davis resident, died July 8, 2004, at Sutter Davis Hospital, just six hours before his 100th birthday. Born July 9, 1904, in Nacogdoches, Texas, he was 99. Keen lived in the Yuba-Sutter area before moving to Davis 18 years ago. He retired from the Del Monte Cannery. He proudly served his country in the National Guard. He was a lifelong member of the Church of the Nazarene. He is survived by his sons, Floyd Keen of Redding, Jimmy Keen of Davis and Eddie Keen of Lava Berryessa; and daughters, Deltha Gaither of Olympia, Wash., and Gwen Epp of Live Oak. He is further survived by 26 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren and 36 great-great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to attend a funeral at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Yuba City Church of the Nazarene, 600 N. George Washington Blvd. in Yuba City. Burial will follow the service at Oroville District Cemetery in Oroville. Arrangements are under the direction of the Davis Funeral Chapel.
