Thanks to some help from folks on the list, I have found a series of articles from the Panola Watchman (Carthage newspaper) about treasure expeditions on Hendricks Lake in 1957 and 1958. Between November 1957 and August 1958, widely recorded ventures were undertaken in search of Spanish silver.
