This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Collins, Davis, McDonald, Boykin Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/kkB.2ACE/944 Message Board Post: does anyone have access to the Original Residents of Texas census records? the individual records are listed on a link at the main USGenWeb page for Texas, and some have clickable links, but all of those links get me to a "page cannot be found" page. I am searching in the 1830-1850 period in Houston Co and Anderson Co.-probably the same area with county lines moving. after that it is Madison Co., then Brazos...though I suspect they didn't move as much as it sounds. I am looking for caucasians, William J. Collins, L. D. Collins, Cynthia Collins, James Alfred Collins, Francis Lee Collins, Louis Davis Collins, Mary Collins and her husbands, James McDonald and __?__ Boykin. I do not know how early they came to Texas, but I do know that William shows up in Houston Co. by 1846 (tax poll), I believe that William died in 1849. He bought land that year but never shows up with his family in any census. Mary and both of her husbands are dead by 1850. I do not find the family in Alabama in 1840, where they are known to be in 1830. I can't find them in the census there in 1830, but that may just be a typo problem with the index. or they are living with extended family and of course then are just numbers without names. thank you for your help in finding out when they entered Texas and anything on their time in Texas prior to 1850. I'd also like to know where they are buried, though I do know James is buried in Madisonville and suspect Cynthia is buried in Madison Co., and I know Francis is buried in Tulare Co., California. thank you for your help
