There are a few early Nacogdoches entries on the index, but for example the certificate for Infant of Will Cole, #10245, 11 May 1911 is missing from the state files. A clerk at the Vital Statistics office told me some counties kept their own early death certificates and didn't send them to the state health department. Also, that in some cases early death certificates may have been sent back to the county to be kept. Is Nacogdoches one of those counties? If so, exactly where are the death certificates? Is there an index?
