His marker is just inside the gate of cemetery on the left. Mahala Caroline Witherspoon is buried perhaps 30ft on past her son's marker, as you walk deeper into the cemetery. Family story is William F Witherspoon died on a wagon train, choking on some beeswax and was buried on the trail somewhere. One bit of info implies this was a wagon train to AR or MO... I'd have to check my notes again. Know anything else about the Witherspoon branch ???? Oh... did James & Lizzie have any childred... I don't show any or know why they divorced if they did ?
