    3. I guess I will jump on the bandwagon. I had corresponded with a very wonderful gentleman newfounded third cousin of mine for quite sometime. His children didn't know much about our correspondence because they didn't care about genealogy. Therefore, they did not know me. I had not heard from him in quite sometime, and without the ( current ) obits that were posted on the site I was on, I would not have known that he had been ill and passed away. It was a great loss to me because he was such a kind person. I did get to meet him one time during our searching. I am so glad that I did, and I miss him. This is how posting current obits helped me. For those that wish to view the current Houston Chronicle obits. They can go to, I think www.houstonchronicle.com. I think that is the correct url. I know that I view the Hunt Co. obits in the Greenville Newspaper everyday and have found where cousins have moved to by doing so. Usually because if a person lived in the area for a long time an obit will be placed in the local paper. And believe you me, some of those that I have found have lived to be in their 90's. So if you are searching for someone born around 1900. They could either still be living , or could be passing away at any time. I promise I won't say anything else about this, but just wanted to point out the usefulness of current obits. No matter where they are posted.
