Hi Allen, I would be interested in finding leads that could connect the family of Willis Larkin and Ann Davis Bentley with a family in Nacogdoches Co., Tx. There is a chance that the Family of Whitmel Bentley may connect way back in the late 1700's-early1800's, but I have not proven out a definite connection. I feel that family brought the Willis Bentley family to Nacogdoches co. from War torn Georgia. They probably traveled thru the Red River Valley area of Louisiana/Texas as they came down from Georgia. They had a daughter "Sallie" Sarah Jane Bentley Raney living in La. after Civil War. They were in Nacogdoches Co. by 1871 when Willis died and was buried in Douglass Cemetery. Three daughters and son Larkin married around that time in Nacogdoches Co., Tx. Ann, Willis' Widow, went on to live with Sallie Raney, who had moved with Husband George W. Raney and children to Belton, Tx. and Ann Bentley died there in 1883 and is buried at Resthaven Cemetery. So, this should give you an idea of what I know to be true, along with words of other Bentley Descendants who have written about the family lately on [email protected] and I know that I would appreciate any words that you might have to offer about our family. Thanks so much, Marilyn Bentley Dawson ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, May 21, 2000 5:30 PM Subject: Re: Bentley-Davis-Stinson-Chastain family > In a message dated 5/20/00 3:58:40 PM Central Daylight Time, > [email protected] writes: > > << an Allen Muckleroy at [email protected] He also > has some Bentley information. >> > > I do have a little info, but only a very little, on the Bentley family. > Let me know what you are looking for. > > Allen :-) > > Allen M.
