PULLEN (PULLIN), b. 1874. ** There is big question in my own mind if the dates of the STOCKMAN genealogy report are accurate, as my father, Basil Dewey KIMBROUGH, son of Laura PULLIN and Thaddeus Dawsey KIMBROUGH, always said that his mother was middle aged when he was born in 1900, and that was reason she and his dad were so hard on him and his brother, Claiborne. Pictures of Laura and Almedia with Basil Dewey KIMBROUGH taken in 1908 would confirm that both Laura and her sister Almedia were well into middle age at that time. Both Laura and Fadius (we knew him as Thaddeus Dawsey) had previous marriages with ISSUE from both. Basil Dewey recalled that Laura's children from first marriage were grown and away from home by the time he could remember, and he never met them. Thomas Anderson KIMBROUGH, buried in Garrison, was Thaddeus Dawsey's oldest son from his first marriage. In the Cold Springs Baptist Church Cemetery just at the edge of Garrison, TX you will find four generations of KIMBROUGHS, and Thomas J. HUMPHREYS. Buried next to Thomas J. HUMPHREYS is a grave marked as 'Mrs. Thomas J. HUMPHREYS' with age delineations matching my father's mother 'Laura'. Put it this way....'There's something 'funny' going on here'. No marker for Thaddeus Dawsey KIMBROUGH or Laura Jane KIMBROUGH, both known to have died in 1929 in Garrison, TX. SUPPOSITION: I think Thaddeus died first, was buried, possibly in one of the unmarked graves in the KIMBROUGH section, then Laura was taken to live with her daughter from her first marriage and when died the daughter buried her next to her first husband and left the given names off the stone.
