My husband is connected to their son, Buford or Beauford PLEASANT, father of James Elisha, father of Lois Lucille PLEASANT who married our Thomas Luther MARTIN. Thomas was a brother to his Beulah Beatrice MARTIN, the baby of 13 children. She was my husband's grandmother. My husband is James Alton LeCROY. His sister, Mary Ann EVANS ([email protected]) and I collaborate on their family research. I actually got her "into" genealogy. Now she's hooked! We have great fun going to Nacogdoches and doing research. We've met a LOT of cousins there. Now, I'm not sure that these MARTINs are the same as Adeline MARTIN who married your Monroe PLEASANT. There were more than one family of MARTINs. Ours lived in Attoyac. Our John Carr MARTIN was a brother to Amos Adelbert who lived to be 103 (I think). I think there were some others in Martinsville, from whom the town was named. There might have even been a 3rd family of MARTINs. It DOES get confusing on these MARTINs. But, it is pretty safe to say that the PLEASANTs are connected. My husband's line is kin to Carolyn ANTHONY, who still lives in Attoyac. She is a PLEASANT. She is the Church secretary at the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. She is the widow of William P. "Boe" ANTHONY. We are also kin to Bernadine FULLER (through the FULLERs). She is a LAYTON. We do not have very much on the LAYTONs, and Bernadine couldn't give me too much info on the FULLER line. Another cousin in Chireno is Laurine (GRAY) NICHOLS, whose mother was Lena Belle, one of our MARTINs and she was married to Lawrence S. GRAY. I think that he went by "Lawrie". Laurine is married to Joe NICHOLS. Most of my MARTIN, BLANKINSHIP and FULLER info is in my file. However, I have not gotten around to putting my PLEASANT info in my database. I do have it on hard copy though and could mail it. The other I could send via GEDCOM if you have some sort of genealogy program. Or I could send it in a report format -- either way -- or both. If I mail the other, I'll need your snail mail address. I'm usually one of the "lurkers" as I tend to just see if someone pops up who is researching my names. Every now and then, I'll chime in with something. I have had a lot of good luck after I made up my custom "signature" line which automatically puts in my surnames in every email.
